So a 4080 Ti (super)? 

I still remember the day where the new xx60/70 GPU is on par with last generation's xx80 (Ti) GPU - see the 3070 for instance

Just wanna get some opinions here. I have a 3070, 5800X3D and a 650W Corsair rmx PSU. I play on a 4KTV, but of course I need to use DLSS and/or play at a lower resolution. I feel like I'm quite VRAM constrained. What would be the best upgrade path here assuming a 5080/90 and a 4090 is out of my budget.

4070ti Super: Cheapest option that shouldn't bottleneck my CPU or exhaust PSU, but limited options/supply and only a 1 gen and tier upgrade.
4080 Super: Roughly 1k more expensive than above, but very close to the 5080 while most likely being much cheaper. However CPU will probably be bottlenecked and a bit risky to pair with the PSU unless undervolted. PSU upgrade adds another RM600-800 to the price. Also limited options/supply.
5070ti Super: Will probably end up being less powerful than the 4080Super, and possibly at a worse price. Might be a sweet spot for CPU/PSU though. Should wait for reviews and actual prices but worried by that time the 40series will have even worse availability.

I am not a pro so assumptions above might be wrong. I wonder if I should also consider the used market for 4070tisuper or 4080super, maybe even the OG 4080?

For the XTX, I'd probably consider it if the price drops below 5K or so.

Do remember that AIBs are not from the USA and we don't get the cards from them. Seems like everyone has forgotten that most of the AIBs are from Taiwan and none of those cards are manufactured in the US except maybe PNY.

Managed to snatch 1 Colorful RTX 5080 at MSRP from Just IT Kepong.

They have some brand that does not required bundle but sold out.

Saw higher end model like Aorus Master but required full PC bundle.

Also they told me RTX 5070 series most likely no need bundle as macam got more stock coming this month when release.

In MY , the 5080s aren't in severe shortage like the 90s.
There are way more stocks of 5080s than 5090s.

Look around the places, you may actually find a few with slightly higher price tags. I am hesitate to point out the shop here because they were all scalping on the 90s.
This situation is different with 5090. Not only it is scarce , even if they got stocks the shop and brand's staff called dibs on them first.
ROG got like 5 cards. 3 of them are sold to staff , they kept 2 of them and selling at absurd price.

The next batch of 5090 GPU is going to be worse , because USA has already enforced the trump's tariff. Effectively from few days ago , all GPU got a 170% bump from its original MSRP .
Distributors would much rather ship 5090 to US since they can sell for more. Its similar to the situation where they banned 4090 in China.
On top of that,  the 5080 is basically a 4080 super super. Not a good day for gamers if you want to build a high end gamer's rig.
But it's not all bad news , among all the 5000 craze the 4090s these shop were hogging are starting to show up again. You can actually find them at 8k ish , again take a look around.
P/S : If you are willing the pay , they are selling FE 5090 for RM 20000+ , ROG Astral for RM25000 + , À la carte.

In Miri, Sarawak here, there is only PC Image.

The rest of shops only sell low end GPU such as 3060 and 4070.

Trust me, I visited a lot of PC shops today. Around 12 shops. None of them sell RTX 4090. Only PC Image has stock for RTX 5080.

Not just them, the other shops too . I noticed the trend last week just after the launch of 50 series .

Most likely they were hogging these units and previously offered them in some exorbitantly priced bundles.
