9800x3d MSRP is only valid when plentiful stock, right now is kawkaw scalp to the max and even distros are taking advantage that you need a new mobo as well. If one ady have AM5 and just want upgrade CPU only well bad luck.

Nvidia has moved from meaningful raster uplift to pushing for fake frames tech. Tbh its not like they need to as AMD have gave up fighting top spot so even their usual raster advantage will be gone with 50series either on par or taking the lead. Its not that Nvidia is good, its that AMD (Radeon) was bad, and Intel is not here yet. This is why everything below 5090 is basically placed one tier below what they actually should be.

And if Intel (Arc) cannot sort their shit out and come out a competitive Celestial gen series, there is no hope that next 60series will have real meaningful upgrade over 50series.

If demand going to be as hot as 4090, even next will still be scalper market...

So basically Nvidia didnt give any uplift in value. As Tech Jesus mentioned; instead of moving the needle, they move the clockface. 4090 going rate was RM 8000+ the last I heard, I wont be surprised if 5090 is gonna be sold at RM 10k and even then it will be sold out in retail and resold at scalper prices

And you can expect Asus cards to start at RM 13k because... its an Asus.

Imagine this is the kinda money you pay your car downpayment. Absolutely insane if your using it just to play games.

If its 38% faster in native raster then its par for the increase in CUDAS & pricing, nothing really great. If it has leverage DLSS4 & MFG just to reach that it is BS.

Reality is xx90family/Titans arent really for gaming purpose. These are prosumer working cards but due to beefier specs they have spillon effect of better gaming performance, tho thats not why they exist. Yet due to ppl got boatloads money and wanna flex, & due to influencers & youtubers showing off their 90 cards, they get these OTT cards just for gaming and rest just follows.
Its like if games are optimised for multithreads, ppl would flock to pay $$$$ for Threadripper/Epyc just to play games. This is insane.

Fun fact I just came off playing Metro EE DLC and what seem to me the theres no difference in 5090 visual fidelity with my 3060Ti and its not like I can see a diff in FPS (could be due to youtube cap vids at 60 FPS). Mind you I have RT on Ultra
