But the scalping and scam bundling are also in USA where Amazon prices are scalping and Newegg are only doing bundling deals with 5000 GPUs. Karma is a bitch and now USA folks are tasting what we felt.

Pauls Hardware put out a suspicion which I also do agree in that one of the reason why global shortage of 5090s & 5080s is happening due to AIBs and brands are frontloading & hoarding stocks of hardware into the USA to beat Trump tariffs dateline. Its quite similar to AMD are stockpiling 9070s GPU but holding onto the launch.

QUOTE(HolyCooler @ Feb 15 2025, 06:34 AM) Yup, not going to pay scalper price, i really don't want to be a waterfish. The card will only be the best for 2 years (assume no 5090 TI), really no point to pay double for it even if money is not an issue, just save the money and say no to scalpers. Which shop you decided to put your money?I have made deposit, hopefully won't need to wait for too long. |

QUOTE(altk1989 @ Feb 15 2025, 06:43 PM) I mean theres this cases where Nvdia using GA103 for 3060Ti NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GA103 Samsung was pretty bad. Its why Nvidia switch back to TSMC and never looked back.but rumor said its because of bad yield from Samsung Chip and thats not gonna happen in TSMC's chip |

Seems like USA & EU distros have learned from us. We must be pioneers in many ways to screw buyers. QUOTE(Convael @ Feb 18 2025, 03:42 PM) In fact our GPU are among the most pricey in the Asia region, that's how terrible it is. Sadly the same can't be said for the average pay of MY workers. So true! Was in Akiba late last year and looked at the latest Scythe Fuma 3 cooler selling for RM 150. The closest I see in Msia is Mugen 6 (same price as Fuma3 in JP) but priced at RM 296! LOL nearly double WTF! Msians getting ripped off with overpriced hardware to a point its prolly cheaper flying to the most expensive asian country and get your rig than supporting the locals. If only I dont care about the warranty.... |

QUOTE(altk1989 @ Feb 19 2025, 01:31 AM) To be honest, i think the hype prolly die down within few month once enough supply comes in, unlike the mining craze where literally every graphic card that can mine=profit, 50series mine nothing, except 5090 that actually have demand in China because of the chip ban......high price of the 5080 and 5070 Ti is totally unjustified, except for their low availability which i think nvidia learnt from Apple or during Mining craze...my only complain is that 40-series card have no sign of lowering the price or sales, before 50series comes out, like all pc shop knew that 50 series surelly have low volume, and people will go for 40series anyway This hype will continue as long as distros artificially strangle the market thru short supply and kaotim with resellers to push bundle deals with unsold trash. Some im okay like bundling with good 850W PSU but not trashy Giga firestarters they cannot sell due to their reputation. |

Afaik, Nvidia have fixed priced contracts for GPU chips to AIB but every gen the quantum increases a lot mainly due to TSMC also increase the price of chip die (esp big dies ie GB202, AD102, etc). These cost increases passes on to AIB with each gen, which then goes onto GPU prices increases but also these AIB take advantage to markup if other things (VRAM, mosfets) goes up too, and of course 1st party scalping like Asus & MSI recently.
The problem and what riles EVGA, is the allocation pie for nos of GPU chips I believe, and EVGA being one of the 'smaller' AIBs (vs Asus, MSI, Giga) meant they got a small slice of that pie. Not happy with such bullying, the owner decided to be done for all and closing shop. Ironically the scalping from artificial shortages by cartels, the bundling BS, the constant price inceases which never comes down even when cost has reduce, its all very familiar to us Msians in our daily lives and at least now the world is suffering with us (in a limited way). Haha. Also when said Nvidia limiting supply for GPU its like say: 2021 - Gaming GPU 70%, AI whatnot 30% 2025 - Gaming GPU 40%, AI whatnot 60% (this is why we have shortages) This post has been edited by babylon52281: Feb 19 2025, 02:46 PM |

QUOTE(altk1989 @ Feb 19 2025, 05:23 PM) Pretty sad that EVGA is the one having the actual Queue system and people really did get their card if they wait for sometime...... I like your optimism Although it's pretty sad that the 50-series is currently overpriced and in low stock, I'm optimistic that prices will drop and normalize in a few months, especially after the 5060 release. This isn't the mining craze era anymore, where miners grabbed every GPU in sight. There's no real reason to buy multiple GPUs now. Scalper ada bola can hold stock for more than 3 month la, lets see Just a few more months, and consumers will be boss again Just need to remember which shop that like to sell as bundle and overpriced, just you wait Lets see in another 3 months. My bet is even after 6 months things will be the same. |

QUOTE(Haw92 @ Feb 20 2025, 08:46 AM) 5070TI performance itself is good, only the pricing now not really make sense if it cost near to 5K. Good? It barely matches 4080S and loses in some areas. For a meaningful gen on gen uplift it should be soundly beating the 4080S but it doesnt. And now even price match 4080S. Its basically 4080S perf at 4080S money, one year later, with shortages that you wouldnt have if you bought a 4080S beforehand.5070TI official retail price is not yet available from respective retailer. still waiting for announcement for my new build |

QUOTE(Pravin_Kopite @ Feb 20 2025, 04:51 PM) IF you dont mind Colorful can try asking Myway. But he says its via preorder and bundle with casing (easy to sell or throwaway)EDIT: At this level, why not wait for 9070XT? Predicted around 7900XT perf so nearly on par with 5070TI ![]() But due to their stockpiling likely will have more than sufficient stocks and also pricing supposedly much cheaper than 5070TI. QUOTE(Pravin_Kopite @ Feb 20 2025, 06:05 PM) What's myway, this brand https://myway2u.net ? Go to Rig Suggestion tered... Forumer MywayI don't mind waiting for the 9070xt reviews first, but scared that if wait that long no chance of getting 5070ti for a while then, especially not close to MSRP. And while too soon to judge, I think it'll be slower than the 5070t and compete with the base 5070. I also doubt AMD RT and FSR4 will be close to Nvidia's offerings. |
