QUOTE(Someonesim @ Dec 8 2020, 08:01 PM) I have issue using PCI-E riser before, yeah need to force it to run PCI-E 3.0 I can boot into Windows without configurating, but Windows wont detect my card correctly ( nVidia driver/control panel failed to load, GPU run on generic driver etc ). So I suspect you can install the PCI-E riser and slot in card, then configure it in BIOS. Should not make any harm, worse is clear BIOS and configure again. Haha yeah, saw so many different feedbacks. Some say change setting in bios before putting gpu on riser to boot. Some say put in riser then boot into bios to change setting. Lol! Clearing bios and configure again seems troublesome lol.

Ended up not using the riser. By the way, thanks again.

QUOTE(hirota @ Dec 13 2020, 05:17 PM) igame 3080 ultra OC really hot in my nr200p test play BF3 can hit 82c Depends on your cooling hardware placement. I saw some builds having not too bad thermal from this case. QUOTE(antaras @ Dec 13 2020, 06:11 PM) Yes, it can get quite toasty on that card. Are you running any OC on it? I did some undervolting to it and it's definitely better compared to running it stock. Stock voltage a little too high and easily power limit the card. Not to mention the heat it creates as well. Also because you are running on an itx case? Yes, it is ITX case.

QUOTE(Current Events guy @ Dec 15 2020, 08:36 PM) Do you have an overclock/undervolt profile in MSI AB? Is it still there after updating the GPU driver? Mine disappeared for some reason. Yes, I have an undervolt profile saved and it’s still there after updating. This post has been edited by keenie: Dec 15 2020, 08:55 PM

QUOTE(faiz2036 @ Dec 16 2020, 12:18 AM) You mean my gpu? It’s z brand 3080 in a not so good thermal case nzxt h510 elite. Shhhhhh. Keep my z brand low. Not many people like z brand in this forum. They made me feel kinda shame owning this z brand 😝 Jokes aside. It serves me pretty well tho. Hahahaha! Peace man.

QUOTE(Bonchi @ Dec 16 2020, 12:55 AM) fuh.. how your card cool below ambient. Even custom waterblock wont achieve that. Should be my ac kept on all the time, ambient temperature was being kept constant around 26~27c. And the GPU fan was set to 800rpm min at all time, I'm not using 0 fan mode, not a fan of it. Noise level at 800rpm won't bother me.

QUOTE(Bonchi @ Dec 16 2020, 08:39 AM) it’s a thermodynamic law that you cant go below ambient temps. Unless your room is actually way colder or the sensors are busted... or something is leaking The lowest temperature only was there for few seconds then raises back already. So far so good. That's why I asked in the forum about other guys experience about idle temperature. It seems not just me, so it's normal haha.

QUOTE(Bonchi @ Dec 16 2020, 09:08 AM) they dont go below ambient. max also matching ambient temps with liquid cooling. But if it really drops below ambient, it’s a sign of heatpipe or radiator leaking usually. I’ll monitor closely these few days. But it’s not giving me problem tho. No performance drop or whatsoever wo. Hmmmmm 🤔 This post has been edited by keenie: Dec 16 2020, 09:49 AM

QUOTE(Bonchi @ Dec 16 2020, 09:51 AM) or maybe your room ambient is actually 23C then the reading is correct. Ah hah, If i remember correctly, that day was a rainy night with ac on LOL. Now morning time, without ac, just a small normal room with opened door and normal room fan, idling around 34c. Better than before, previously was at about 41~44c. Don't know what they did with the driver update. This post has been edited by keenie: Dec 16 2020, 09:55 AM

QUOTE(targon @ Dec 16 2020, 10:21 AM) Giga aorus cards runs cool at load when the fans gets spinning up and at low noise. it's designed for optimal cooling at load. depends which bios setting u select. Silent setting, fans ramp up at higher temps (60) and has some effect on PCH temps. Not advisable for those with small casing / poor air circulation. Oc setting , the fans will ramp up at 50 C whether idle or not. Either way, it's pretty silent. Gigabyte aorus master is same tier like Asus rog strix, right? Pricing not that friendly LOL. Add on, just found out there are aorus mater and aorus extreme. Extreme comes with a mini figure. This post has been edited by keenie: Dec 16 2020, 11:31 AM

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Apr 2 2021, 10:23 PM) The Dell G5 desktop where you can get an RTX3070 at a low price as a bundle is now out of stock. That was fast. The Alienware with RTX3080 will be facing the same fate. Just placed order of R12 3080. Do you think they will cancel my order? QUOTE(Icehart @ Apr 2 2021, 11:20 PM) RTX 3080 Alienware now need 30 days to ship out. Link? Really? I’ll update again when I see my order updates. Not yet uploaded on their system. QUOTE(Icehart @ Apr 3 2021, 11:41 PM) This is my order status. RTX 3080 R12. Back then Dell says delivery within 7-12 working days. I checked yesterday and it has slipped to 20-30 working days. Ohh, wait la. As long as Dell accepts the deal and to fulfil. Then we are able to get the 3080 ma. I afraid Dell is unable to fulfil my order, cancels and refund my money. Lol.

QUOTE(Icehart @ Apr 4 2021, 12:24 AM) Very unlikely they will cancel. What they can do is long-time fulfillment. If they cannot fulfill you will not be able to buy. Oh, then it’s fine. I can wait. Worth waiting for 11900kf and 3080.

QUOTE(yimingwuzere @ Apr 4 2021, 01:11 AM) I'm curious to see what the cooling system is in that desktop for 11900KF. I suspect Dell's config is designed just enough to operate within spec and not handle constant 225W like what Rocket Lake octacores pulls for AVX2 workloads. The 3080 cooler also looks suspiciously similar to their 3070 based on what few pictures I found online, would be interesting to see how that card fares. I saw some posts about AVX2 etc etc. It doesn’t relate to me much since I just use the pc for gaming. Don’t even know gonna have extreme oc with the cpu. Definitely gonna undervolt the gpu tho. Plus, I always turn on ac while gaming or doing office work. I will share my experience here after i got it. Then gonna mod the case fan to noctuas and thermal paste for sure. Hope that helps a little.

QUOTE(edmund_yung @ Apr 4 2021, 06:57 AM) Any idea where to calculate the ROI? Yesterday night a miner shared to me that he used his daughter’s rig to mine during free time. By calculation, 24 hours non stop, after deducted electricity, nett RM60/day. He just roughly shared the info, didn’t ask much since not interested. By the way, he is 1 of those people ordered 200 ~ 300 gpu per batch for his farms. Lol.

Good to hear that. Dell has yet to confirm my order. There’s a possibility that Dell will cancel my order. But Dell website has not yet list it as no stock or sold out la. I don’t mind waiting, just wishing Dell confirms my order only. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

QUOTE(Icehart @ Apr 6 2021, 10:22 AM) Will post photos later. As for garage sales sold out OEM GPUs, lol I don't believe. The seller can claim anything he wants. But if it's the truth, well pity those gullible people. Even though 3080 or 3090 are in high demand. It costs from at least 7.5k and above. I don’t believe they can sell that quick. Hah.
