I'm using a 4k/1080 oled.
Trying to decide between 9070xt, 5070ti, 5080.
I would do a 5090 at usd2000 but not crazy enuf to spend 3k.
So this looks like a good middle ground for me.

HK 5090s are all imported meaning they dont have local warranty and even those local IT chains do, the price is never friendly.
5090D are pretty competitive but dont think anyone would want it.
also with the AI thing going on here, you wont even see any used as they will be grabbed right away.

Due to the crazy pricing, 5090dv2 seems a bit more feasible for me atm.
Just waiting for other brands because I have a 3080ti windforce and the fan noise is louder than I would like. I'm guessing gigabyte gaming model should be similar.
I doubt anyone would bring in a 5090d to msia.

Hard to justify. Its ady that expensive over 5080 and the performance reduction doesnt justify the 4k reduced. If you can have the money above 5080, just a matter of saving a couple more months to get a full sized 5090. 5090D only exist if you want to go legal route to obtain the "best" AI card within China/HK.

The real players comes to Msia/SG/Thai and hoover up all the 5090s (and 5080s then) they could get their hands. Otherwise the 'one eye see, one eye close' places

Im guessing the AI perf diff between crippled 5090D and full 5090 ady can pay back the Rm 4k diff (plus trip to here) in a month.

I dun use ai for anything.
Paying rm4k less for 6% less performance seems reasonable for me.
I can buy a whole 5070ti with that money.
