Obvious Nvidia slides as usual. Will wait for the reviews, though this time we already have a good idea of where each Super GPU may land.

I'd say the 4070 Ti Super would have the best value, as it supposedly equals the 4080. Nvidia being Nvidia as expected, marketing the 4070 series as "1440p" GPUs.

Meanwhile, the 4090 remains $1599, a staggering $600 difference to the 4080 Super. They should have lowered it to maybe $1399 but Nvidia would rather release a new series. tongue.gif

I expected the price to be somewhat in this ballpark. For used 40-series, this will be great.

I wasn't planning on upgrading my 3090 anytime soon, but I might reconsider it now.

Generally positive reviews all around for the 4070 Super. Offering up to 25% performance uplift over the 4070 at $599

Not bad. Price range of AIBs here RM3000 - RM3800. This is a really good pricing indicator for 4070 Ti Super (aka the 10% slower than 4080 GPU) and the 4080 Super.

4070 Ti Super Reviews are out...

and it's not as close to the 4080 as expected and barely ahead of the 4070 Ti. sweat.gif

At 1440p, a mere 4% faster for RT games & 3% faster in raster games compared to the 4070 Ti.

Waiting for 4080 Super, which is expected to be barely faster than the 4080 but at a $200 less price point.

4080 Super Review embargos lift today, but here's a peek at the performance

Up to a staggering 2.4% faster than the 4080 tongue.gif

But of course, most importantly is the price point of $999.

I think it's possible to see local prices in the RM5200-RM5500 range, considering the 4070 Super & 4070 Ti Super prices here.

Both reviews generally lament the same performance as the 4080. The more relevant point would be the better value.

The prices for the 4080S seem to be in the ballpark of what I expected ~ RM5200-RM5500.

Not bad (initial pricing wise) for a newly released GPU series this day and age.

These are from DotaTech.

I am actually one of those who wasn't comfortable aiming for a 4090 (Desktop) for multiple reasons, so I set for a 4080 instead last year but was hoping the prices would drop.

And then came the Super announcement and the price tag of $999. It's likely I will get a 4080 Super. I do have the beast on Mobile though (but that's more of a 4070 Ti - 4080 at best performance) tongue.gif

Aren't you on a 3090 or something? Wait for Blackwell.

I have a few gaming PCs.

Main gaming PC: Alienware Aurora R12 (11900k, 3090, 4K TV and all)—no more warranty, also the one I had planned to upgrade to a 4080, need that Frame Gen goodness
"Family" gaming PC (the nieces and nephews play on it): i7-3770k, 3080 Ti (super bottlenecked, but got the OEM GPU for cheap)
Gaming laptop: Illegear Onyx GX (13900HX, 4090)- got this recently, hybrid work/play

Even though I'm in no rush to upgrade, there are still some ways to go to the end of the year for a potential Blackwell release, and I think a 4080 (likely a Super) would do my 4K PC some good.

Don't like frame-gen?

Nvidia: Here's frame-gen on steroids bruce.gif

Honestly, I think this is the direction Nvidia’s future gaming GPUs are heading, shifting even more workload to AI.

Future GPUs might become more compact and less power-hungry, relying less on traditional brute-force rendering.

Given fake frames trajectory, now we are doing 9x fakes to 1 true frame, by DLSS6 we might have 30 fakes to 1 true. Do you want your gameplay turn into 30FPS movie instead?
*
I only got to experience the high-end GPUs in the last 3+ years with my current setup, so I enable every bell and whistle including DLSS and Frame Generation, whenever possible. smile.gif I’m not a competitive gamer, I just want to enjoy top-tier games as intended.

About your point, '30 fakes to 1 true frame' are speculative. RTX Blackwell hasn’t been reviewed yet, so it’s too early to draw conclusions. Nvidia’s trajectory makes sense to me as they’ve evolved from DLSS 1.0 to 3.0 FG and now Frame-Gen on steroids.

AI allows rendering complex visuals years ahead of what traditional brute-force hardware can achieve, especially since bigger and more power hungry GPUs seems not feasible at this point. No tech is perfect, it improves over time but I’m excited to see what Blackwell does to the gaming GPU scene (will AMD follow suit? FSR4 uses ML apparently).

Anyone who trusts in MLID typically:

• Enjoys clickbait content
• Loves sensationalism
• Has too much time to dwell on unconfirmed news

While everything before an official release is speculative, MLID is notorious for being wrong yet still manages to sound incredibly confident. Just my opinion, though, mileage may vary. tongue.gif

I don’t usually follow MLID content, but this is what I’ve noticed when it’s shared which is why I never bothered.

When I saw that slide, I immediately told myself "compared with DLSS, surely" and that is what most are saying.

Still, quite impressive if true. You can "reach" 4090 performance with xx70 at $549 MSRP.

haha finally ppl realise MLID is full of shit
he will probably cut the below 2 "predictions" and keep the 5090 prediction alive and say "see I told u so"

kopite7kimi so far the one who "predicted" correctly (he is jensen alt account)

Totally agreed.

Kopite7Kimi > MLID, anyday, anytime.

A lot of folks scoffed at him saying the 5090 FE is 2-slot, and yet he got it right.

Doubt he is Jen-Hsen though, as he would have leaked a lot more including more tech details than you can imagine tongue.gif

"Real"? laugh.gif This is a prototype. It can be 8 slots for all I know.

It exists, sure, as a test. In the end, Kopite was right, as it’s official now.

Great overview of the flagship 5090 if you haven't already seen it

DLSS 4 delivering >200fps is mighty impressive, at least to me.

I think pure raster performance improvements will be modest, 15-25% at most over 40-series, as Nvidia is pushing AI-driven tech further than ever.

Good pre-review video

The design is incredibly impressive, the flow through design, 2-slot.

I expect the raster performance uplift over the 4090 to be modest, but still noticeable better of course.
