Spot on.

Couple of days away from NDA being lifted, but these leaks are allegedly straight from reviewers:

Synthethic benchmarks, so actual gaming performance will vary, though the uplift should be relatively similar (maybe even better with optimized drivers).

QUOTE(iZuDeeN @ Jan 22 2025, 09:16 PM)
how to properly read this i.e 100% = 5090

means upgrade from 4090 is 100-70% i.e 30% improvement rite

because if the dominator different i.e when use 4090 as baseline.. the gain is 43% not 30%
*
It should be (higher score - lower score)/lower score * 100

Having said that, it would then not be "30% faster", but upto 50% faster in some cases

Comparing the 5090 to the 4090:

Speed Way (1440p) = 5090 is 42.9% faster
Steel Nomad (4K) = 5090 is 53.4% faster
Port Royal (1440p) = 5090 is 40.4% faster
Time Spy (1440p) = 34.2% faster
Time Spy Extreme (2160p) = 30.9% faster
Fire Strike (1080p) = 39.6% faster
Fire Strike Extreme(1440p) = 34.3% faster
Fire Strike Ultra (2160p) = 33.4% faster

On average, the RTX 5090 is approximately 38.64% faster than the RTX 4090

Initial availability is expected to be incredibly challenging...

Large UK retailer holds “single-digit” stock of GeForce RTX 5090 a week ahead of launch

Single digit for 5090, few hundred for 5080 stock

Considering the MSRP of 5080 to be $999, this is quite an increment (AIBs after all).

So far I waited patiently to get OEMs (3080 Ti, 3090 and now currently on a 4080).

I feel 5090 is overkill for my gaming purposes. tongue.gif

If MFG can easily give 144fps in the most demanding of games, then it might be a worthwhile upgrade to utilize my 144Hz display.

Waiting patiently for reviews, but I don't see myself getting one anytime soon.

Another good analysis (as with all DF videos), this time with lengthy DLSS 4 benchmark at the end

"AMD no longer competing at the high end" - It's an ouchy as Nvidia can now price their high-end cards without much competition.

Seems like the new Transformer model is changing gamers' minds:

ULTRA PERFORMANCE IS PLAYABLE NOW. What the f*ck did they to to make it look so good? Not that I want to play on that setting all the time, it still has its issues, but it looks clean af für something that is 33 of my 4K resolution.

So I turned frame gen on and increased the details. Arround a 100 frames, game felt good. I had to check again if frame gen is actually turned on. Then it hit me again. How the f*ck does it work now? Input lag isn’t an issue anymore, no weird stuttering, game feels smoother than some game at native 115 (my VRR limit).

NVIDIA f*cking cooked with the software side of the new generation. And that’s me saying, who always complains about floaty controls or input lag. I still don’t get it, how did they do it

Fun fact I just came off playing Metro EE DLC and what seem to me the theres no difference in 5090 visual fidelity with my 3060Ti and its not like I can see a diff in FPS (could be due to youtube cap vids at 60 FPS). Mind you I have RT on Ultra
*
Lol, for a moment it sounded like you actually had the card. Judging subjective things like motion/smoothness based on a YouTube video doesn’t seem all that valid, at least to me, which is why it can be subjective and most refer to the performance metrics and side-by-side image comparison.

"MFG fake frames"
Or how you like to watch AI gameplay for you. Wait in that case why not just watch a movie?
*
To me, it doesn’t matter how the visuals or performance are achieved. If the performance metrics back it up and the latency is acceptable, I’m fine with it.

NVIDIA’s marketing for the 50-series heavily focuses on DLSS 4, which, based on benchmarks so far, has shown massive performance increments. At the end of the day, most gamers will vote with their wallets if it delivers performance per frame at a competitive level.

u can get DLSS 4 here without waiting for nvidia

but u need to use NV profile inspector

One of the first things I did once the embargo lifted was to check out Cyberpunk 2077 with the new Transformer model.

Even with DLSS Ultra Performance, the visuals seem really stable and considerably less blurry, at least to me (RT Overdrive, FG ON, 3440x1440)

I also did a benchmark with Transformer model vs. CNN model, no difference in performance for me:

But the best would be to try out yourself with the latest DLSS files in other games like Forbidden West.

Which is why I put a caveat that my observation is based on the youtube video but image display isnt all that different. As compared to watching BMW I can see the visuals are better so its not the video being a limiting factor.
Indeed which is why late into 40series lifecycle gamers prefer to buy 30series because the older gen still has better perf/$$. 40series only started to rise after Nvidia stop selling Amperes.
And all indications points that Nvidia has stop Ada production just before BW so they dont damper 50series sales like 30series did. Gamers want to vote with their wallets but Nvidia is forcing customers to not have a better choice by killing Ada when it has better Perf/$$. Waydago Nvidia!

laugh.gif You didn't have to sound like you had the card in the first place when making the comparison.

Comparing visuals through a YT video (even with a disclaimer), and then claiming "there’s no difference in 5090 visual fidelity with my 3060 Ti" isn’t exactly a valid argument.

QUOTE(babylon52281 @ Jan 24 2025, 06:40 PM)
Seen you flamebaiting in Techspot. Aint that stupid to get into a flame war with a fanboi. If I can see a difference, I can see a difference. Thats that.
*
And that's me... how? From trolling to accusations. Resorting to personal attacks instead of addressing the evidence I provided doesn’t strengthen your argument. Kesian, the embodiment of the stereotypical toxic "PC Master Race".

Most importantly if you disagree, feel free to share your evidence rather than vague remarks.

If indeed the new Transformer model truly results in poorer details (btw no need to smear your eyes with Vaseline), then back it up; whether your own screenshot comparisons or online sources.

Otherwise it’s hard to take your criticism seriously (though it seems pointless to continue commenting if you’ve already made up your mind).

Ignore only lah... easier laugh.gif

Edit: Added more context, otherwise you might comment again while still avoiding evidence and doubling down on your vague comparisons.

My experience with the RTX 50 series so far has been positive. I’ve been on it since early February. Based on Sun Cycle’s price, I don't think I ever overpaid.

Story time...

I pre-ordered the 5080 from a "reputable" store in Lowyat back in January. They weren’t sure which AIB brand would arrive first but this was what I got first week Feb:
user posted image

The 5080 reviews were generally positive although some pointed out that 16Gigs of VRAM might not be enough. Games like Indiana Jones and Star Wars Outlaws pushed the VRAM to its limits when maxed out (and when it hit me, it was a slideshow, surprised how easily it hit with these new titles). I’m using a Samsung Neo G9 57 (7680x2160@240Hz).

My previous 4080 could only run 8K wide at 120Hz. Finally seeing 240Hz working with MFG in supported games was a big moment. The performance was simply magical when MFG worked.

About three months later, I decided to go all in with my dream build 😎

My last custom DIY setup was over 10 years ago. Back in 2024, I had the 9800X3D (my first time not choosing Intel!) in mind and waited for Nvidia’s top-tier GPU which turned out to be the 5090.

Fast forward now May 2025. The 9800X3D and 5090 build is complete and it’s been nothing short of extraordinary on the Neo G9 57.

user posted image

Here’s my journey in order:

- Bought the Neo G9 57 in 2024, but the 4080 wasn’t enough (expected as much)

- Kept the idea of a new build in mind for 2025, more of a personal goal than a need

- Upgraded to the 5080

- Sold off my 3090 + 4080 to help fund the new setup (both 'cheap' OEMs with no warranty but a little surprised by the demand + price it reached)

- Built a custom PC with the 9800X3D and 5090

- Decided to keep the 5080 with my Dell 11900k gaming PC as "spare" and display relegated to my old 3440x1440 144Hz and in common/work setup area

Hopefully I did good. So much has changed (or rather refined) in 12 years for DIY/custom build your own PC.

I used to wonder where the PSUs are in builds posted but I now know it laugh.gif

Surprisingly, quite a number of games support 32:9, and the experience is incredibly immersive.

It's in the works. A bunch of items have been sitting in my checkout cart since May, but they're not a priority at the moment. smile.gif

I'm also just now learning about all these hexagon RGB lights, the different brands and how the setups work, never paid much attention until recently.

For now, I'm absolutely enjoying the 8K-wide 240Hz (depending on the game with DLSS + MFG) experience.

The year is coming to a close and it’s been nine months with me on the RTX5080 (3440x1440@144Hz) and RTX 5090 (7680x2160@240Hz). It has truly been an "elevated" year of gaming for me. tongue.gif

For many it’s a familiar cycle of waiting. You hold off for the next update, the next price drop or the next rumored model. When that finally arrives, new rumors surface and the waiting starts all over again. It’s an endless loop...

If anyone is still undecided about picking up any of the 50-series cards, consider this your sign to go for it! cool2.gif

I’m not an e-sports player but nearly all the games I play now supports FG and/or MFG and having the power to reach 144 or 240 fps fits my use case quite perfectly.

Of course, budget always matters but if you’re chasing that next-level gaming experience, it’s absolutely worth it.

Looking back, I’m glad I pulled the trigger on both GPUs though I feel there was a lot of hesitancy from gamers initially on the 50 series. I was supposed to sell the 5080 but I decided to keep it for my ultrawide gaming rig.

Here’s to another great year of gaming ahead. party.gif

P.S. I’m curious about the upcoming 9950X3D2, though I doubt it will bring major gains in gaming. I was also looking forward to seeing what the 50-series Super would offer, but rumors suggest it has been cancelled.

Sharing a short peek at how I game (it's off-screen clip though.. from a few months back, running RT Overdrive preset at 8K-wide 4x MFG): https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZyesgLmWFT6stdYf8
