well, lets see how they fare against man utd first... man utd still has the reputation but in terms of strength is far off from the fergie man utd.. if we cant get good results against them then we can forget about it  laugh.gif

United is like a wounded/unwell, but a still venomous snake, they probably didn't have quite a reputation or form like Fergie's United used to be..but they still can hurt & punished any team
on their day. As a matter of fact i'm quite surprised they're the better team against Chelsea in a 2-2 draw last weekend. And not to mention their recent comeback after being 0-2 down
against Newcastle b4 the international break. That's clearly evidence they had the "grinta" of their own.

but having said that Juve own record has been formidable these past years against English opponents. So, we're in for a cracking tie

hmm.. indeed. actually, i woundnt be surprised if mourinho neutralize our attack considering he is the master at defending... i am not sure if we can get a good result at old trafford but I would EXPECT a win in turin and nothing less hmm.gif smile.gif

If Genoa with Ivan Juric can neutralized Juve's attack (i'd admit, that's probably the "toughest" match Juve had played this season, its not like a match where Juve dominated but failed to score..but
more like Genoa can handle whatever Juve threw at them). So having said that, the master like Mourinho with team like United is gonna be an even bigger challenge

but its good to see we are once again feared again like in the 90s... ronaldo is in our team.. the amount of exposure and the amount of firepower we have (if we include dybala, douglas costa, bernadeschi)... its been awhile since i have seen such a strong squad since capello's juve... but a strong squad may not mean we will win.. but its good to see none the less thumbup.gif

Ronaldo is a talisman when it comes to UCL. Its no coincidence Real has been reaching semi final stages in UCL at minimum and won it a couple of times after Ronaldo arrival back in 2009/2010

so having him in the team kinda gave the morale boost we badly need after losing 2 UCL final in a short time

anyway, the likes of Mandzukic, Can, Khedira would miss the trip to Manchester with injury, and my prediction the lineup probably gonna be this

-----------------------------Szczesny----------------------------
--Cancelo-------Bonucci-------Chiellini----Alex Sandro--
----------Bentancur------Pjanic------Matuidi----------------
---------------------Dybala----Bernardeschi------------------
-----------------------Cristiano Ronaldo----------------------

A fair result considering we are playing with certain level of respect to the home team.

A few lazy passes from Pjanic and Bonucci.
Sandro was a beast throughout the match.
Benta, Cuads and Cancelo's decision making need to be polished more.

We were really lucky that the shot from Pogba got deflected out for a corner.

Overall it's another narrow win with some nail biting moments here and there.

Lukaku is quite bad, I think Rashford was a striker? He went missing for most of the game. Herrera should replace Matic as he's no longer the same player from Chelsea. Their CBs kept CR7 quiet for the game.

Anyway, I believe it's kinda sure for us to top the group? Valencia just blew their chances by drawing with Young Boys, but it's still open for the remaining spot to be grabbed

a good win and according to reports we could have scored more while their only real chance was pogba's shot that rattled the bar

this team is growing.... Empoli NEXT!

Dang, I only managed to wake up for the last 20 mins of the game. Of course thankful for the score-line. However, I noticed in those 20 mins that Man Utd seemed to be dominating the match - but on soccernet it said we had 60% of the possession?

Noticed a few bad passes from Cancelo and Bernadeschi which resulted in us losing the ball. There also seemed to be some miscommunication amongst the players, I saw Pjanic especially raising is hand like to gesture his frustration in badly timed passes etc.

Was also worried about that Martial shot which kinda leaked in but very cunning.

if we beat United at Turin in 2 weeks time we'll be one of the first team to qualify to next round. Not to discredit either Valencia or Young Boys but a win against United in the next match
will surely made us a 99% group winner

and its been a while since Juve got most win in their group stage (last time was 2005 when Juve won 5 out of 6 against Bayern, Ajax. Maccabi Tel Avivi). Juve already got 6pts from the toughest
away venue in the group, so i think its possible for Juve to go 6 out of 6 this time. Forza Juve!

first half was all Juve. Yeap we could score more than 1 goal. Second half our only clear cut chances was a shot by Ronaldo that was brilliantly saved by De Gea

United clear cut chances was Pogba's shot in the 2nd half..other than that Juve masterfully nullify whatever they're throwing at em

anyway, a very good win. Like i said b4, United might not be the United from Fergie's era, but they're still a team to be reckon with

As you said, despite them going through a tough time, they are still a force to be reckoned with and never to be taken for granted.

I was so bummed after the Genoa draw, but this is a positive sign.

I think juve is below par again at final 30 mins. just afraid juve burn out and this is just quarter of the season.

CR7 might already played too much minutes, he needs some rest.

MU was not so bad either. I was anticipating good pogba game, he did pretty well to find space and did not loose possession that much. Bentancur was OK, he should be pogba replacement. he got the physics, perhaps just not the skills yet. but the match with MU do show that Khedira/Can/(departed Marchisio) can be covered by the lanky Bentancur.

we have played well since the injury to khedira. i feel this midfield no longer has a slot for him. pjanic, can and matuidi should be first choice and if can is not available bentancur to replace him. khedira's very very slow pace and ghosting always lead to us being dominated completely in midfield by stronger opposition. bentancur, pjanic and matuidi held their own yesterday although we can use a better box to box midfielder like sergej milinkovic savic (SMS) hmm.gif smile.gif

I have the same sentiments as you guys about the final 30 mins. Saw that against Genoa too. We should have killed off the match while we still had the chance.

Is it maybe a fitness issue? Or maybe we need a bit more time to re-group after the 2-week international break?

This Juve just loves to keep us on our toes and experience nail-biting moments in matches haha.

still in ecstasy after Piala Malaysia final last night huhuhu...

after that, watching Empoli-Juve. I gotta to say its a quite lackluster performance by Juve. Unlike the team we saw in the first half against United in midweek

what i dislike about Allegri style is that his team are too afraid to land a killing blow to kill the game. I'd noticed many occasions where Juve can hit Empoli with a counter attack but the player decided to pass back and do a less risky passes to hold possession
