Here is the N95 service manual which I found online
http://www.mmcforums.net/forum/index.php?a...tails&f_id=1740

Document to help Nokia service levels 1 and 2 workshop technicians to carry out service to the N95.

Those who got the N95 w/out warranty can now troubleshoot their own phone and those who send their phone for service will know what the technician is doing with the phone and what parts must be replaced upon removal.

Would the slider get loose again after fixing it?
*
well we can only speculate for now. but i believe that it will get loose again. just a question of when.

smile.gif

i wouldnt mind it being loose after 5 years of wear and tear
hahahaha.

just got my phone back and it is tight alright.
no more loose feeling.

but the sliding is no longer fluid like.

can feel it is more solid and the friction

its really tight.
LOL

by the way, anyone using the bluetooth keyboard for n95? any idea on the price?

Managed to connect N95 to my home Wireless LAN (WEP),  but when I try to surf using nokia Web I've got this message "Web: No gateway reply".

My ADSL/Router setup:
Network Status : public
Mode : Infrastructure.
Security : WEP
Authentication type :Open
Wep Encryption: 64bits
WEP key Format: Hexadecimal
Wep key : XX XX XX XX XX (10 chars)

Please help.

set your IPV4 manually.

i had that problem but solved it.

n95 seems to have a problem negotiating with your DHCP server using WEP. The bug is not solved by the latest firmware but the wifi is a lot more stable now. Managed to download files at more than twice the speed using my wifi at home.

i think the slider on the E65 is ugly...
no offence
just a statement of opinion.

but i have to admit it feels better than the N95.

guess gotta give and take.

Use SimpleCenter on your PC, connect the PC to your HDTV as your monitor, and wirelessly transmit audio, video and pictures that way. Watch their mouths drop  even lower. Trust me, i get that very reaction when i showed my friends my vacation pics/movies + MP3s laugh.gif

sorry to ask a no brainer question but what is SimpleCenter?

your IMEI is the same right? if so then it might be that your voice files has been lost. Try downloading your voice files again. Not sure how. or maybe contact nokia and see.

heh heh...do remember once you use NSS to change the firmware on your phone.....the consequences entails are of significant impact. More so when it is an original N95.

Well basically warranty issues.

Hehehe you can always change it back to the default code after flashing, since there only 1 thing you need to change and doing that take you less than 10 secs.

heard about people who had some problem with the firmware update and the entire phone refuse to start up. The worst thing is.....the firmware is the modified one.

Added on May 6, 2007, 12:18 pmOh I see, then I would recommend the BH501.

Found out N95's processor is using Texas Instruments OMAP 2420 processor running at 330Mhz a.k.a. ARM11.

QUOTE
Nokia N95 is powered by the fastest processor currently used in Symbian OS devices: ARM11-based Texas Instruments OMAP2420 running at 330 MHz. It's the same processor (and the same clock speed) as used in the Nokia N93/N93i, Linux-based Nokia N800 Internet Tablet and the recently announced Nokia E90 Communicator.

http://my-symbian.com/s60v3/review_n95.php

also the N95 is not using SiRFstarIII GSC3e chip which is considerably more sensitive but is using Texas Instruments' own solution which is also good but not as good as SiRFstarIII.
