hmm, what's the product code for malaysia n95 ? i wanna try to change my region

I tried earlier to install that software, but it says error while installing, cannot access VBscript or something like that i hate window vista....

I have to take off the battery and start again..the worst news that Nav is not longer in the phone??? Have anyone encounter this problem...?

if im not mistaken, the Nav is preinstall in the memory card.
once u plug in the memory card, it wil auto install.

correct me if im wrong.

didn't u afraid when u buy n95 AP for the first time about the screen and camera which is not under warranty? i am concerning about the screen and camera if it has problem later... any suggestion?

when i knew that the battery so fast finish, so i don't open gps, wifi & bluetooth, but it still finish in one day. Maybe my battery got problem already.

About the screen i didn't care, just be careful always but i bought this ap the camera got warranty.

is that rite like you said the smart2go software is just 60 days trial? is that applicable for AP and original set?

OK so I've just bought my E61i and am loving every moment of using it.

Though I know this is the N95 thread, but I have some questions pertaining to GPS which I think N95 users would be more familiar with. Coming from a WM5 based GPS background, GPS on Symbian is totally new to me.

So I've downloaded Smart2Go on my E61i. And I also transferred Malaysia's map to my device using Nokia's maploaded which someone posted the download link above. When I tried to plan my route, say for example to 1 Utama from my current location, it asks me to purchase.

My question:

1. Smart2Go is free right?
2. I thought you only pay if you want voice navigation, but still can use to plan route as some N95 users reported. But I find that I am asked to pay even if I want to use it to plan my route only.

Anything I missed somewhere in my installation?

By navigation module, which one do you mean?

let me clarify the difference between smart2go and navfone... smart2go is to get the routing and see the map, and navfone is where u can get the information of the place near you (for example)... am i rite? sorry for clarifying, i am new to this stuff.... btw, if we want to plan route the from indonesia to east-malaysia (for example) then we have to download the map of indonesia and east-malaysia by using MAPLOADER rite?

if the asiamaps got 60day trial, so it is much better to get AP... no use for asiamaps

Is it because I'm using an E61i paired with Holux GPSlim 240 BT GPS receiver, and not a N95? Having said that, Smart2Go comes pre-installed in the N95?

Routing is simulated when you do this, not real time. The paid version gives you realtime routing WITH voice navigation. Pair it together with the slow updating GPS built into the N95 and you are bound to miss every turn in your route to your destination.

What is the difference between route planning and turn-by-turn navigation?

Route planning calculates and displays a route between two locations.

Turn-by-turn navigation guides you to your destination using voice instructions (e.g. "turn left in 300 metres").

3. Rerouting for Smart2go is better. The recalculation done very fast. Once you miss the turn, the Phone will rerouting for alternative route for you. The route options for Smart 2go better than Asiamaps.

just updated the software for my n95 and overall i say that its faster than the older firmware.. try sliding out the music keys and let the icons load, then you can see that its alot faster... camera start and taking pictures still takes a long time.. locking on to 3G signal is faster..

i'll test it somemore and update the firmware differences..

@schizophrenic: mind teaching me how to use the GPS? I've still no idea how to set it..
