here are some notes for gk61 pcb with optical switches.
it has a similar key layout to pok3r. (basically a standard 60% key layout). this means:
1. generic 60% plates (e.g. aluminum, steel, carbon fiber) that support the same key layout will work for gk61 pcb. 2. compatible generic 60% custom cases will work for gk61 pcb. note that the incompatibility exists mainly because of the usb-c header. the compatible cases must have a hole large enough to fit this header so that you can plug in the cable conveniently. 3. gk61 pcb supports gateron optical switches, and gk's own optical switches only. 4. gk61 pcb supports the full set of cherry pcb-mount stabilizers. (which are 4x 2u, and 1x 6.25u) this is different from gk64, because there is no pcb-mount hole for 2u-left shift on gk64 pcb. (this is not a problem, since the 2u shift is relatively shorter, so the absence of 2u stabilizer doesn't affect the typing feel much). since cherry plate-mount and costar stabs are installed on the top plate, there is no problem with these two.
now, the main problem when you build a custom with gk61 pcb is the loosed top plate, resulting from the reduced structural support provided by gateron optical switches. these switches only have one leg, unlike mechanical switches that have additional two pins. hence, an additional mod must be done to make sure the top plate can be secured properly. (although you have no problem typing on a custom gk61 board, but by shaking the board vigorously the top plate will come off lol)
about gateron optical switches, they're one of the better choices, especially for linear users. they are very smooth by default (the absence of gold crosspoint/metal leaf in linear switches makes them super smooth). my suggestion is that you just lube the springs and be done with it. lubing sliders doesn't improve smoothness.

Full size , for office like usage only usually all switches u can add round rubber damper on it (O-rings). but not onto box switches i think. i personally never use it myself. it dampens the sound of ur keycaps bottoming out. and it reduce travel distance. If u want silent switches, u should opt for silent red or any linear switch. they are usually quieter than others at stock. as for working on all OS. i have only use windows. so im not sure weather will it work on other OS. u should check the keyboard specs. Filco i know will work on MAC. better wait for other sifus

Hi Guys, I'm looking for Mechanical keyboard recommendations purely for Office environment usage, that means don't need RGB lighting and need it to be full sized.
Any particular model / brand to recommend? Currently looking at Ducky Zeros
