define sound dampen ?

wireless fullsize?
Filco Convertible FTW !

Sound dampen means I can manually take out the key and add a round rubber damper on it.

Wireless dongle or bluetooth working on all OS linux/mac/windows.If can't get wireless , PS/2 will do or usb as long as long support all OS version.

Full size , for office like usage only

Saw G613 logitech but is it tactile ?

Usage ,for normal office typing with tactile bumps. Not linear where can't feel whether the key was press or not.

there is a varmillo with bluetooth. in TKL.

but most of the good ones cant be source locally.

so it depends on ur budget, what u want in a kibod, and how u define a good kibod.  rclxub.gif

Nothing much , a total standard keyboard same as G613 logitech but with tactile. The G613 is linear type , so typing here sometimes need to feel the keypress is register with a bump feel.
Requirement
-Tactile , force 45G maybe.Never tried with 60g but basic will do.Need to type a lot of report.
-Need numberpad for calculator together.Full size keyboard.
-No RGB , distraction on office.
-Wireless since table is small often need to move the keyboard left right or even sometimes put ontop of the files to type or lap.
-If possible with bluetooth , sometimes need to reply on sms.

yeah kbdfans has a store on taobao and if you cant find what you want from kbdfans, there are other vendors there that have stuff you won't find for cheaper anywhere else

I don't think can get cheap price for a combo of tactile+wireless+bluetooth+full size mechanical keyboard.Only large manufacturer like logitech can do it cheap ?
Anyone tried with G613 before ? Need so review on typing or typist.

Only OEM brand can make it cheap like logi/china brand, because mass produce.
For custom board, all parts actually charged more than you can expect, pushing the keyboard become expensive.

I built (build from DIY kit) before tactile TKL with bluetooth, and can cost RM 500+ onwards.
*
That is alot for TKL , but I need full keyboard include numberpad.Except , did DIY able to create a mechanical numberpad too ?

Use as typist , so it would be quite hard to find actual wireless+mechanical key + bluetooth cheap.

Anyone use G613 ? can review abit compare to rubber keyboard from those basic d3ll keyboard ? I search some said it's almost the same.

RM 500 for TKL custom is considered as very door entry level.

I think wireless mechanical keyboard is very less in the market, because it's redundant feature, it will get signal delay once you have bluetooth interference in your environment.

If you talking about romer-g vs membrane, actually there is difference, longer actuation distance in romer-g making typing more fun. And actuate without need of bottoming.
But, romer-g only have stock keycaps, so, hard to find replacement keycaps like what cherry mx switches can do.
Still, you need to try G613 in retail shop, if you like it, then buy it.
*
Sorry , I am beginner didn't know much about the price.I think of replacing the keyboard due inconvenient with wire but a bit selfish to have a mechanical key.
Maybe this kind of combo wireless + mechanical full size keyboard.Had been using membrane keyboard for years those delll type keyboard.

Does mechanical keyboard had a standard on key cap size and distant ? similar key size and distance size of every key with standard
I worry it is not standard and I need to adjust the way of typing.

Sometimes , it's a problem when asking those shop to open a product to test type a keyboard. Not every shop allow that.If you know which shop allow , please let me know.
QUOTE(horns @ Mar 11 2019, 11:35 PM)
actually from the specs, g613 comes with romer-g tactile switches, https://www.logitechg.com/en-roeu/products/...g-keyboard.html

you mean to say local units have linear switches? i think you should double check the specs at local shops first. also, if you really liked it, just go ahead. about review, i really suggest you go and try it out personally.

the main reason why we suggest options other than romer-g switches is mainly because the stock caps might not be as durable as the switches. (replacement cap sets might be hard to find) the incompatibility also makes having a mkb a lot less fun hehe
*
Is that so ? The different of linear vs tactile is having a bump knowing what i am typing.
Normally does caps wear out that much on mechanical keyboard compare to membrane ? I though with 3 years warranty from logitech?
Whether it romer-g or cherry mx or outemu , I need to try out all and not all shop allow people like us to open every keyboard blue, brown, red and test.

Main objective is wireless > mech > other features like programmable , bluetooth and etc. Most mechanical keyboard is plug and play usb ? No need to install software to run ?

horns New to mech keyboard.
May I know does a keyboard have a standard size on key cap ?
Don't know how to explain but

Key height , width , range between next next key and etc for full size keyboard.

For example , IBM keyboard or Dell keyboard

The key cap range between enxt key , the key cap height and size of the keyboard.
Any standard around which can refer back those ibm vs modem mech key ?

yes there will be sales from time to time. there are also discount vouchers that can be used at taobao/tmall.
hello smile.gif

in your case, there are two things involved. the first one is key cap profiles. there are many profiles: oem, cherry, step sculpture 2, sa, dcs, dsa, xda, mda, etc., with oem being the most common. while most aftermarket key cap sets cover standard key layouts, some cover more than that, which include rare key sizes (especially the lengths and shapes). for key length, the smallest unit is 1u (e.g., keys for alphas , numbers, f-row). the full length of 60% area is usually 15u.

the second one is key layouts. here are some modern layouts, http://www.maxkeyboard.com/mechanical-keyc...size-chart.html

most key cap sets will follow one of the key profiles, and support at least the standard layout.

from the picture you shared, the control keys (should be 1.5u) are slightly longer than 1.25u window and alt keys, and the space bar is shorter (it should be 5.75u). hence these control keys make the bottom row to become non-standard.

while most aftermarket key caps only provide 1.25u control keys, and 6.25u space bar, there are some that can support more. usually they are more expensive.
*
Even you explain , not much I can understand.

Let say , the Dell basic with windows key in it at the picture. Is it 1.5u-1.25u ?

I saw some review on G613 logitech wireless keyboard but I dont know where I can find them and open then for a test type.

Normally , as for you guys, choosing a keyboard , without a test of typing , you just buy as like it without even have a look or test type ?

So which brand/model of keyboard is similar to the Dell one or exact size and layout full size with number pad ?

Standard layout looks like the photo, the bottom row are 1.25u , and spacebar is 6.25u.

We just buy the keyboard without typing test, if don't like then sell it back to market.
I think you can look for board like Filco, or Varmilo. It's great board with full size as well.
*
Selling back consider 2nd or new as use not even 10 minutes to test?
How close is the keyboard at the picture given compare to logitech g613 ?

which part do you not understand? i have given you the link to common layouts, with detailed key cap lengths for each key, you should be able to figure it out. (unless i misunderstood your actual question)

about that question for dell basic, are you talking about the window key alone? if that's the case, it should be a 1.25u key.

not sure where to find a logitech g613 demonstration unit either.

yes, i know what i want. as far as typing feels and sound, a mkb is just a combination of switches, key caps, case, plate, stabilizers, keyboard construction, layouts, and relevant modifications. i choose to make custom builds, because i can choose the combinations that i want.

as for the last question, it's better for you to check out the full-size options that you can look up from each brand, and compare them yourself. the layout of that dell basic is not a common full-size layout these days.

edit: essentially, if you liked logitech g613, then choose your preferred switch type and go for it. it's the first-hand experience that matters, because without it, everything will not make sense to you.
*
Comparethe key cap from the previous IBM and Dell vs g613 , is it the same size length and height ?
