I never actually went to Low yat and other stores that display the keyboard and press all the keyboard since
Cherry Switch or Mechanical Keyboard introduced years ago.

This is my first time pressing it, and it feel totally awesome to type.
When i try my Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000.... a membrane type-keyboard, and i can say Mechanical Keyboard is the one i need now..
I won't ever go back to Membrane-keyboard anymore.
*
To be honest here, after adventure long time in mkb, you will go back to membrane (those cheap price keyboard).
Less generalise keyboard, you will be happier.

ahhh... perhaps so. My previous Ducky Zero that I sold to my friend have a very rattly spacebar. Basically every keys with stabilizers are very rattly. Yes, it's worst than iKBC.
*
iKBC is far best China board already.. They always provide something that very worth like 2 sets doubleshot PBT with keyboard, and cheaper price and good quality.
Expected from a growing brand that existed more than 10 years.

Ducky Zero really a budget keyboard, like hit or miss. Some you will encounter very nice 1.
Older Ducky Zero, are better build. For now, I no comments since the current price can be lower than iKBC. rclxub.gif

oh ducky zero is considered a budget board, no wonder smile.gif then i hope that it's the last one from ducky that sucks.

sometimes it's not really about price. i rather pay extra to get boards with good modifiers and space bar. (especially when the price gap is just like myr 50+)
*
Ducky Zero = China
Ducky One = Taiwan
Ducky Shine (Flagship) = Taiwan
Year of the (Chinese Zodiac), Shine Variation = Taiwan

Every brand also have cheap to expensive boards.. Budget boards normally use cheaper material cost, and hand solder.
Expensive board, PCB they use machine solder and double layer PCB. Ducky Zero not that bad, after you compare other budget boards..

Imagine you buy a budget board, switch stem break, keycaps leg break.. keyboard like goyang here and there..
Then you get Ducky Zero, like "Wah, what a big upgrade with similar price".

But, if you always use expensive boards, of course you feel meh towards Ducky Zero.
Keyboards always bottom-to-top only enjoy. smile.gif

Just got my first Topre today. Oh boy it felt so good to type on. Decided to go with the HHKB Pro 2 instead for budget and personal reasons.

Thanks Store Uni quovadis123 for making this happen. His swift and exceptional services had made this possible.
Would recommend anyone to purchase from there. Really fast delivery and good customer services.

Really enjoying the keyboard. It feels like MX Brown, but with a greater tactility, but in an acceptable amount, and the force is towards the top rather than middle of the keystroke, making you to feel and enjoy every key press. Now I can understand why people love them.

Well time to make up the keyboard then xD

Here's two pictures to share with all of you.

Thank again quovadis123!

use lubed silent versions of cherry mx switches for best results.

I deleted my Facebook account. So that's not an option.

Anyway, I'm currently eyeing two keyboards for my next—it's either VA68Mg or FC660MS/EWDP, both with Silent Red.

I talked with Cynthia regarding the Varmilo so that's good but Leopold, man I have no idea how to get one. Talked with widebasket but it's out of stock with no plan of re-stoking.
*
You can just buy it in http://www.leopold.co.kr/
Just need forwarder to ship it back.

Else, ask any friend in Korea hand carry it back to you. <-- economic, and you can waive the taxes.

has anyone here ever sold/sent keyboard internationally? if yes, other than filling up the usual EMS slip with sender/receiver address, item description and price, do I need to produce any other documentation?
*
No other documentation. Only fill the Pos Laju EMS (Orange) form.
Please remember to take photo of your parcels, and the Consignment, in case the receiver need information from you again during the board stucked in their Custom.

Transit via EMS took around 5 business days. You can assume if monday send out, your receiver will receive on Sun or next Monday.

ah i see. based on ur experience, how much is the average cost to send a keyboard via EMS?

I assume EMS is the cheapest option with tracking right?
*
EMS (Merchandise) in fact the most expensive shipping with tracking; EMS is available in most countries, and fastest.
If you want to save some shipping, use Pos Malaysia Air Parcel. It only weigh your parcel and won't volumetric charge you.

--

EMS:
Depends on your destination location, you can check in the poslaju website. And you don't have to pay any GST as it's outbound shipping to oversea.
https://www.pos.com.my/postal-services/quic...lculate-postage
Go to international rates to see the shipping cost. Most expensive is ship to United States. The cost depends on the "Zones", the further away from M'sia, then the price will very expensive.
Ship to USA, 1.5kg around RM 210. Ship to Vietnam, 1.5kg around RM 107.50.

based on ur experience, if u use Pos Malaysia Air Parcel (with tracking), how long does it normally take to arrive to destination?

im planning to sell my friend's keycaps and keyboard separately on reddit mechmarket, so u would recommend normal international parcel service instead of EMS right?
*
At least 2 weeks for Air Parcel, and the tracking is not that up to date (live track). But it save alot. EMS great service, but price premium.

If keycaps, you can use Flexiprepaid, it will save you alot of money. It's like poslaju prepaid plastics parcel. <-- only for keycaps (lightweight and small size)

Utterly bullshit review laugh.gif
What omron did this time is introduce the linear switch romer-G, the previous only tactile.

Back to their history, their first generation blue case tactile is feel like membrane.
After POWER users feedback, they revamped the switch to remove rubber bump, and second generation black case switch feel more like a mechanical switch.
I tried the second generation, it feels like short travel Brown switch.
So what's wrong with Romer-G at this point? The switch will actuate at the very short press, which emphasise what gaming need, 25% faster.
However, the full travel is just 3.2mm, you don't feel it's good end press. Like you press nicely, suddenly potong stim. <-- (They should improve it to 3.8-4.0mm.)

Now, linear version released (first generation linear), just a simple tweak from second generation, reduce the weak bump to scratchy.
Well, I think it's great improvement. Romer-G should be in linear, so less potong stim.

Most importantly, it's no where near to Cherry MX feel. What I feel is, this switch is only viable to Gamers, but not typist.

Note: for tactile switch bump clarity; Kailh Box Brown > Cherry MX Brown > Gateron Brown > Omron Romer-G Tactile

why are black switches hard to find in most mainstream keyboards these days?
*
It's very low demand until extinction because the Cherry MX switch is heavy at 60g.
That's why we will not see any MX black now.

However, Japan and oversea still selling the black switch, although the popularity is going down.

Now we have replacement using Gateron Black which widely acceptable in the community because of the 50g.
You may try gateron black, it's good. For most board i try introduce in the community, I insist to get the black switch first. rclxm9.gif
