Recently, I booked a ride from the Gardens Hotel to get to KLIA, and my uber driver got caught in a traffic jam. That's understandable, since KL usually has bad traffic, but the driver actually couldn't find my location and drove past where I was waiting at the hotel taxi area twice!!! I had to wave frantically before I got her attention the third time around... shakehead.gif On the way to the airport, the driver took a wrong turn and got lost, which resulted in me missing my flight. It was so frustrating.

Anyone ever meet with any uber/grab horror stories like that?? Please share here...

on my first week started driving uber..i couldn't get waze to work so had to rely on google maps which is probably the worse app of all history...
i was driving a lady home..went thru a toll to make a u-turn...after u-turn, i supposed take a left turn. missed that and went back up on the toll highway again. had to make 2 more u-turns to finally drop her off.
i politely apologise and ask her to file a report to uber that i used wrong way..and she rightfully did. uber deducted a toll payment and adjusted the fare.
that was probably the worse drive i've had so far.

i took a rider from pavilion and he wanted to get to an area near mytown. at jalan tun razak, reaching near mytown, instead of taking left turn, i took right turn into MEX highway, because waze didnt tell me which way to turn. because of that, i have to drive all the way to bukit jalil, then turn back to KL. what a looonnnggggg turrnnnn!!! i was frustrated coz of my fault, and also the rider knew the way but kept silent about it.

the rider slap his forehead right after i took the wrong turn, the atmosphere in the car went intense. but after a few minutes, he cool things down by starting a small chat with me.

i refuse to take any money, but he insist paying. i even get a 'navigation expert' after the trip LOL

if rider has got a preferred route/short cut, then rider should point it out to the driver. we driver can't possibly be familiar with all roads and know all short cuts. If we pandai-pandai use short cut, the rider might say we try to cheat them, especially if foreigners "why ur not using Waze??"

most of the time i'll ask the rider if its ok i follow directions given by Waze...

some riders also tried to be smart and use a way which they tot was faster/shorter but end up longer due to unexpected jam...

Waze not perfect, sometimes tried to be too smart for its own good...i remember once on a trip to KLIA, it points me to drive to INSIDE the runway rclxub.gif

but its the next best thing really

Uber/Grab drivers are not professional taxi drivers. You want cheap, you get cheap. Personally I will not book Uber/Grab for important trips like catching a flight.

How long does the trip take to your airport?
What time u take the grab and what time is your flight?

I would say she not expert. Can't blame her
Everytime I go to airport I will reach there early 3hr.
Anything can happen on the road, eg: accident cause jam or car breakdown or ppl hit your car which cause miss your flight.
If you time it ngam ngam, better take train.
But she safely send u to the airport that's the 1st priority and not con you.

I would appreciate got ppl do grab and uber, imagine the rider has high expectation and rate lower star even though driver do no harm or threaten. Eventually the driver exit the industry then u all have to take the taxi.

fucking never clean hands before opening the door. spent 20 minutes parked at the roadside frantically cleaning the oily mess after dropping her off.

also once, missed the small sudden entrance to one hongkie rider's condo, had to make one big turn, kena kaobeh like shit in canton by the hongkie auntie saying shit like gonna rain la need to collect clothes la.

yesterday also kena one fucker just asked u whether can wait for 10 mins as he wanna go to bank halfway into the trip for a rm 5 trip, i just drop him at the bank, collect fare and went off.

by far the most chillest passengers are the arabs.

driving grab really test ur patience.

for a rider, the most important thing is to reach safely and within reasonable timr

for a driver, we expect a smooth rider.

but many sohai will leave handphone, ask to stop at 7-11, atm, or ask to wait for 5-10 minutes. if they ask before a pick up, i will ask them cancel. but many dont say it first, only when i press pick up then they ask. cheapskate

Rider should know that driver may not know where exactly u r waiting or who is the rider? Sometime waze direction may slightly away from your spot. However, u do know where exactly is the driver because u can see the exact car location in real time. So is it so hard to signal your driver when u see him/her?

last year, final day of Aidilfitri...i picked up this malay lady in TTDI attending a raya open house function. Needless to say she's dressed to kill, heavy make-up, silky kebaya, gold neklace, shiny hair and high heels...no problem.

after dropped-off, i check the car in case she left anything behind. there's a spot of mud on my car mat and i had just washed my car. so i stop by road side to clean it.

guess what? it wasn't mud (use your imagination) cry.gif

luckily i'm using trapo as mat but still, used alot of wet tissue and half bottle water to clean it..

luckily managed to spot it...else might get report from next rider
