I agree with the surcharge thing, but sometimes even when the store accepts it, the cashier will just say "system down".
I've tried few times paying using TnG card in Mynews stores, there was once that the cashier tried to scan my card with the terminal, it didn't work so the cashier keyed in the serial code behind the card into the system instead, and that's exactly what cashiers did when I pay using TnG after that case.
Also, I think TnG is aiming to replace our physical cards with the app, cuz the vending machines that used to have TnG card scanner are taken off. So I guess it's all about QR codes in the future.
