Talk about insecure but suggest pattern lock? Are you ok?

face unlock is insecure. can be easily fooled with photo.
worthless and false sense of security.
better disable it and use pattern lock.

Then someone who stole your phone must have your picture.. i.e its your relative or friend, or a professional..

Guys, android is not that secure after all.. there are plenty u can do by just booting into recovery mode, don't even need to bother about all those security.. for me the security unlock is merely to prevent someone easily unlock my phone to use without permission (i.e my wife.. shhh.. ) tongue.gif

i don't think the Pattern is Convenient , the pattern u need to slide , while i can unlock my phone with 1 hand with face reg smile.gif Raise up ur phone , press unlock button with left hand , ur right hand is on the screen and ready to open the apps

i only use pattern to unlock when i wake up from bed , and the light is stil dark , or when my phone is on flat of table smile.gif Else face reg work the best for me

yes, android cant stop anyone from accessing recovery and fully reformatting it

but then now im not sure if this is a samsung or android feature, there is something called FRP locking

where if thief wants to access the stolen phone through a custom recovery (without formatting)

once they flash a custom recovery, the phone will not boot until you reflash stock.. which results in a full wipe as well so your data will not be stolen

however, i do agree.. that is the downside of android. without cable and pc can just access recovery and give it a full wipe

Yup only way is custom recovery. It uses your screen lock. But for Sammy will void knox.
Isnt it the same for iphone using a PC?

I think if your phone is stolen can already expect knox trip

So it doesn't matter already because the thief will try to trip knox anyway

But if you have a police report and phone recovered

Can probably submit for a motherboard replacement with no charge or just labour charge

Not sure about that

u need to improve ur english understanding before hitting reply button.

pattern unlock is more secure than face unlock.
*
Considering that I have managed to unlocked my friend's phone that using pattern lock as security in the past just by seeing him doing it for one or 2 times from afar....I wouldn't dare to think that pattern unlock is more secure even for one second.

At least for the face unlock, you would need to invest and do some preparation to pull that off.

Sure that both of these security is not secure but it was laughable for you to suggest a pattern unlock as an alternative.

Well not much negative comments on this phone this time?
Well there are always pro n con in any phone including the renown iPhone.
I will wait for price drop this time before buying it. I had always been one of the early ones on preorder
Looking at trend past 2 years I am sure a discounted rm300 to 400 is possible

Oh wow SME only give Harman Kardon mini speaker for PO? I see it will be a trend from now on from SME. No more % discount. I bought the bigger one for RM400 2 years ago, and this mini priced at RM699. I will pass this time and will wait for Limited/Special Edition. Maybe around June.
