i guess theres nothing wrong with Maddox..as he's just 2.5 months old..give him more time and see whether that part grows more hair .. if not,maybe consult the vet.

urm...i myself have a 2 yr-old silky if u really plan to get a silky terrier...u must b ready to well-train him! if u have search for info about siky terriers,you should know that silky terriers are actually much more stubborn and playful than yorkies.. they tend to be bossy and are very sensitive to sound,they might bark a lot and love digging! haha...but of course these bad habits can b overcome if u r determine and patient enough to train and discipline ur silky since small

although they might b slightly more hyper than yorkies,but they are actually very lovely and adorable..good at 'manja-ing' haha...and of course very smart too..learn things very fast especially when he's still young!! u might oso neva want to punish him when he look pathetically at you!! thats what happened to me when i wanted to punish him for doing smtg wrong! haha......note that u should not follow my footsteps or u will have a spoiled 'kid'!!

well thats what i know about silky terriers...i dont know much about yorkies..but they definitely will b wonderful too!! oh ya u live in an apartment rite? as u know most dogs have to exercise regularly..haha so its best if u can take ur dog for a walk frequently

Hi all, my little Babe is looking for good home. Babe is 6 months old now,microchipped and potty-trained.
Actually he is reserve for my relative, but at the end, the relative's MIL don't like pets, so i have to look for a good home for babe.
A certain amount is needed to cover the 3 vaccinations and the censarean fee for Babe's mama..
of coz the price is negotiatable as long as u r a really dog lover.
and pls allow me to pay a visit once a while, so that Babe can reunion with his mama..

Now Babe is roaming freely in the house and he like to manja manja..asking for hug hug and kiss kiss..
Hope the new owner will not cage him and not going to abandon him for any reason.(eg. move to apartment, or going to have own baby..etc)
My baby is stay healthy and happy with my furkids. so, please don;t use this kind of excuse. All u have to do is to keep the place clean.
Babe has to be keep indoor.

ARH. mine was mix terrier ya i did research about terrier but still i love it so much dat y even thought i know it kinda noisy and alert type but i cud not stop myself from getting it

silky is much more active compare to yorkie as they are playful, dominant and alert dogs... as for barking, it depends on situation and all silky react differently...they very sensitive to sound even from far far away...if they have use to it since small, then after some time (it may last for a year or two) they will stop barking at the sound but sound like fireworks which only could be heard during festive seasons, they may bark for whole night... are you working or will stay home all day? they likes to mess up place or make noise if no ppl around...they are love hunger dogs and want attention all the time...if you're the lazy kind of ppl to entertain the dog after back home from all day long work, it's not recommend that you have silky...after not seeing you for the day, they will crazily play with you...

is this topic still alive? Just wanna ask if anybody had skin problem with their silky such as skin at the back peeling off? Mine silky after eating science diet and medicine (antibiotic) prescribe by the vet, the skin behind his back started coming out in the center part...
Anybody silky which have this kind of problem or any knowledge mind to share?

Hi all,

I am a new owner of a puppy silky terrier. Will like to join this thread for more tips in taking care of my Muffin. Yeah, that's her name.



I bought it from anjfurkids.webs.com very experienced & professional seller who brief me on all the do's & don't, also making sure they wash & groom the pet before handing-over.

I was being advised to offer treats to my Muffin, in the process of toilet-train or any other tricks training but I have one problem: Muffin seems to start having diarrhea after being fed by the treat I bought. Before I bought, I asked the shop assistant twice whether the treat is suitable for a 2-month old silky terrier and the answer was yes.

I brought her to the vet this morning and now she's on medication, hope she'll get well soon.

I need suggestions, what sort of treats should I be giving her?

At this age, I would just use her kibbles as treat.

Yeah, at this stage i'll just use kibble as treat as they just love to eat anything you offer...

Try rewarding her with her puppy biscuits, safer. =)

She's now 11 months old and have turn to silver tan color coat, was wondering how long will it takes for it to turn to black tan color?

Hi everyone,

I just adopted a 2 year old silky terrier.

She is lovely and hyper. But due to her previous owner keep abandon her...she feel a lil insecure when she saw me take bag and leave home for work. She will bark when i close the door, not until my housemate come and carry her, then she will be quiet.

I am leaving in condo. And there are dogs around as well. occasionally we hear them bark. but that is occasionally so neighbor are all ok. But as for my silky "Luna"...I can't afford to have her to keep on barking when she see me leaving the house. She also bark to greet ppl who opens the door.

Although less than 1 minute...but her bark is very loud. And i canot have her to keep greeting ppl on the middle of the night, when my housemate comes home at 2-3am!!!

I only have her for 1 day. And was wondering if anyone here know how to help me train her not to bark when i leave home, that it's ok and I will come back.

And by the way, i was told that she only need to eat 4-table spoon of kibbles. Is this really enough? 0.o cos yesterday after dinner, during midnite she go korek my tong sampah and find food. 0.0
