QUOTE(kding2 @ Feb 21 2018, 05:16 PM) Hmmmm... make sense. Ouch! I feel your pain there. That is a good 4 hours of commute two ways. I really hope the SC can sort it out for you asap! Good luck and all the best! However it will take 2 hours trip to reach the Samsung Service center though from where I stayed. Haha. |

Hi new user of note 8. Anyone with Digi telco having issue with data connectivity where it can’t go 4G or 4G+?

Tldr: Excellent service at Lowyat service center. Wanted to change only the screen, but managed to change the screen, frame, battery and home button all under 2 hours.
I would like to share my experience going to the Samsung Service Centre at lowyat just now: Previously in the forum I mentioned that my screen suddenly have burn in. I was surprised and wanted to claim under warranty. I called the lowyat service centre on monday, and asked if there is stock for the screen (there was) and I asked the person to save it for me. I went to the service center just now and sent the phone at 6.30. I showed the person at the counter my phone and showed him the parts of the screen that has burn in. He saw it, and said definitely can change. Then he said it will only take 1 hour since it is under warranty (I was so surprised) Then, since I only wanted to change the screen, I didnt mention anything else. But when I just went out of the place, the guy called me and asked about the paint peeling on the metal frame. He asked if they were scratches, and I just told him it was paint peeling. Then he said okay, can change the the frame too. I was damn surprised didnt know if paint peeling can claim under warranty. I have the black Note 8, and the black note 8 had some terrible paint peel I got the phone at 8.30 because the technician did water test and stuff, and the guy told me the screen was changed, the frame was changed, the battery was changed, and the home button (I assume the vibrator under the screen) was changed. I didnt even ask to change the battery and check anything else!!!! Its like winning jackpot!!! All in all I was so surprised that I got an excellent service. Now the phone feels brand new |

Wanted to change only the screen, but managed to change the screen, frame, battery and home button all under 2 hours. They changed the battery because it's attached to the screen. So when you change the screen, you need to change the battery as well. They had to. And yes. When it comes to after service, lowyat center is one of the best. No doubt about it. I think I watched a Note 8 teardown before and the battery does not need to be changed just because you change the screen, can just reuse the battery. I might be wrong, but surprised and happy nonetheless |
