Just got myself a Hoco QC 3.0 charger for RM 35.

It charges my RN5 much faster than stock charger (obviously lol). Luckily RN5 supports QC 2.0. So far so good!

Nope, mine doesn't. Only the charger head will heat up, and that's normal, cos last time my S7e QC 2.0 charger head also heat up, but phone doesn't.

Yup! Just used it today hehe.

I am currently using the 3gb ram version.

Previously was using S7 edge, 4gb ram.

And honestly, if you are just a normal user (WhatsApp, Fb, normal Web and k/ surfing, Iflix, Netflix, without graphic heavy gaming), 3gb ram is more than enough. In fact I played PUBG without issues.

Of course another factor is storage, since 4gb ram comes with 64gb storage.

Best place is official physical Mi Store. I got my RN5 3gb ram from mi store.

I use only stock camera app

Yup, no headphones.

So far I have used Waze outdoors, acceptable, though not as fast as my previous S7 edge.

GPS indoors not good.

1) Whichever would do, 3.0 or 4.0 would not make a difference since RN5 only supports up to QC 2.0

2) Better choose a case which provides extra bump for camera as well. I am currently using Ipaky hard case. So far so good.

3) I am also using Tempered glass, pasang at mobile shop rm 15. So far my touch gesture are good, so no probs.


I have read many complaints on battery drain with 9.5.17. So I didn't update, still with stock 9.5.6.0, till further updates can fix the battery drain.

Got new updates, 9.5.19. Maybe try update and see got improvement.

You can, but pictures will get blue tint when using flash.

Get the one with holes for flash if want to get.

Or use case which provides extra bump for camera lense.

I won't update hehe. Will probably stay with current stock version until a better version comes along.

Huh, since when Redmi Note 6 launched? And from the pic I see single camera lense only, seems like fake one... Nowadays is dual cameras


I use Opera Browser. So far so good. Try using other browsers and see.

So far I use without camera lense cover, so far so good.

Get a casing with provides extra bump for the camera portion so when you put on table or drop it would not kena the lense.

If you still want to install camera protector, get the one with holes for the flash as you will get blue tint pictures if use full camera lense protector.

Yes, that charger can be used. But charging speed will be up to QC 2.0 only. I am currently using a QC 3.0 charger myself too.

Usually nothing will happen, the charger will automatically adjust the voltage based on the phone capability (whether can fast charge or not)

Just curious, does your camera suffer from lag?

My RN5 has camera lag issue sometimes.

Anyone else has the same issue and how to fix it? Does putting a higher read/write SD card helps?

I am currently using Kingston HC-1 Class 10 micro sd card.

Would it help if I upgrade to UHS-1 SD cards?
As far as I understand yes, is correct.

Malaysia official Xiaomi unit is RN 5 Ai.

Face recognition only works if you change your phone region to India.

Yup, mine has lag issues too.

Yours is 3gb or 4gb ram variant?

Just wanna ask, what version is your MIUI? Did you all update to the latest one?

For those experiencing camera lag issues, I kinda found out how to fix it.

Previously I put my picture Camera Frame in 4:3 ratio, but changed it to 18:9 ratio.

Seems like that reduce my camera lag. Try and see, do feedback if that fixes your camera lag issues.
