Considering how small is my batch (77ppl lol), i think IMU decided that its not "feasible" to book an expensive venue for it.

i think eca isnt' that important when applying to pms right?
i saw the requirements for each twinning universities and most of them really only care for english proficiency and academic results if i'm not mistaken. |

they are accepting you into their home programme, and probably, you will stay and treat people there.......so their overriding concern will be, are you qualified and bright enough to be on par with their home students.........and is your english good enough to weather the course, and communicate with patients there......
at least that would be my concerns, if i were the person whom is tasked with selecting students by my university.......i will look for people with ielts 8.0 and above.....who entered with AAA or ter>96........and average B and above through the eos's....... but i suspect every pms also have to accept one or two borderline students......maybe out of 4 places, they can choose 3 and the 4th be assigned to them by imu........otherwise those at the bottom of the pecking order will find no pms want to accept them....... eca will play a minor part, but if there is a student with ielts 8.5, ter99, in the dean's list throughout, is president of the student body, a national player in tennis, and puts my uni as 1st choice........i will grab him/her...... |

trust me, they will look at all aspects........i will definitely look at the pre-u results, as they, and we all know, the selection criteria is NOT the tightest in the world......there is really only 2 eos to look at.......the last one is too late as matching will have already been completed before the exam itself.......

that's what happens when law and order fails........when law enforcement agencies rather shoot chemical laden water at ceremah than chase after rempits and robbers........

QUOTE(Visualize @ Feb 18 2009, 04:57 PM) Because almost all high quality students are vying for places overseas. Hence the remaining ones.. Not really. There are 3 groups of people studying in IPTS:Obviously to pocket the RM300 application fee? 1. Good students with limited budget 2. Good students on scholarship 3. Mediocre students who got in with money To study medicine overseas (developed countries), one must prepare at least half a mil for tuition fee alone. Not everyone is ready to invest so much in an undergrad degree, especially those who intend to work in Msia only. BTW, the really good students will be in IPTA (non-bumis only). Also, pls bare in mind that most Unis in developed countries have been established for hundreds of years (Cambridge 800plus!!!), while most IPTS are barely 10 years old. QUOTE(Visualize @ Mar 26 2009, 05:00 PM) If the students weren't chased away, there would be no Cambridge today. the 'pilgrim' from england who settled in the new colony of massachusetts bay at plymouth, in the new land of the americas in 1620, decided to set up a college in 1936 with endowment from a rich man called john harvard of charlestown, a young minister who, upon his death in 1638, left his library and half his estate to the new institution. no prize for guessing what this college is now called........ the campus is sited in a town in middlesex county, within the greater boston area........and the town is called........ cambridge! and the small city of cambridge, massachusetts (population smaller than bintulu sarawak) is home to two of the world's most renowned universities......harvard, and mit.......... |
