I first got my playing cards when I was 11 years old... my dad bought some bubble gum from a kedai runcit and in there were 4 cards, I remember Wolves, Nott Forest, Crystal Pal and my beloved Liverpool..

My dad only knew how to explain what and who Liverpool are and my love for the team just grew from there... 25 years I am still supporting this club, through it all... good, bad, worst, u name it. I may not be a FAN-atic, but I'm still a pretty big fan blush.gif

call me a "glory hunter" if you will, but for the past 25 years, if ask if I was happy.. I can only tell you that I am

all time player for me : Ian Rush..and that has still not changed notworthy.gif

I think Mata plays more upfront now with Silva on the left unless I'm mistaken.

actually it isn't.. what started out as an innocent thread to ask for fans humble beginning became a topic to change it to glory hunting becos some people opening declared it as such... u know the ones shakehead.gif

its more like what made you actually support the team you are with, not so much whether you support them when they were winning or otherwise.

i know a close friend who supported Newcastle becos his girlfren bought him a Newcastle jersey when they were going out, she liked the Zebra stripes thingy back then. he knew closed to nuts about them until he watched shearer play for them and next thing you know he's a fan... and a real diehard one, he wears it proudly even on the edge of relegation and he says, "we're not gonna be down there long, we'll be back"

now that, for a fan who knew close to nothing, he has gain a measure of respect.. and yes, we can all blame his girlfren for it tongue.gif

cant said that lar.. i known a fair share of newcastle fans although not many... normally supporter for those club really need other ppl recognition lar... its not easy for them. this season will bring some cheers to evertonian as they may be crowned FA cup champion, just like portsmouth last season.. at least something for them to cherish on n repay their faith in the club... hope next time we have team like Brawn GP in EPL that can actually challenge although with limitation on cash.. welcome back wolves and brimingham...

Speaking of Newcastle fans, I was once chastised for referring to them as the "Zebras". What the hell? That's what their own fans refer to them as what. On another note, I hope they stay up for they have a great set of fans despite not winning anything since the beginning of time.

I think they might have a point there Duke. Clearly they prefer to be referred to as the "Barcodes" biggrin.gif
