QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Mar 1 2018, 08:36 AM) I believe current devices have built in controls to minimize this. Anyway, battery can always be replaced after a year or two. I didn’t know that they now have built in controls to minimize overcharging.I recently my friend had to change the battery because of frequent overnight charging, the battery ‘bulge’. |

QUOTE(StarPrimo @ Mar 1 2018, 10:04 AM) I forgot to ask this. Dunno about other people here, but I've been charging overnight since 2010 when I started using an Android smartphone. Will update you when I find out. Was told not recommended not to charge overnight. Found this article from 2017. Article Link QUOTE But leaving your phone in the charger overnight, even when it's fully charged, won't do much to change how frequently its battery runs through cycles, which are drained by simply using the phone. "In terms of the gradual erosion of battery life, what must be understood is that phone batteries are constantly in a state of decay," a representative for the battery and charger accessories maker Anker says. "Sleeping with a phone charging overnight will make no noticeable difference in the process." That's because modern smartphones are designed to avoid taking in more current than is necessary to fully charge them. In other words, they know when to take it easy. "Smartphones, as the name would suggest, are smart," the Anker representative said. "Every unit has a built-in chip that will prevent charging once 100% capacity has been reached. Therefore, provided that the phone in question is purchased from a verified and legitimate retailer, there should be no danger in leaving the phone charging overnight." The idea that charging overnight may be harmful — or cause a series of "mini-charges" that continuously drain the battery — typically comes from people's experiences with older tech, Wiens says. "I think what gives people this feeling is that back in the day some phones or some laptops would go back and forth between 99% and 100%" on their battery indicators, he says. "That had more to do with measuring errors of what the software was showing you more than anything else." |

The bottom chin when using SwiftKey on iPhone X is too big for my taste. Hope they address this wasted space on the bottom. Damn.

QUOTE(attw @ Mar 2 2018, 01:41 PM) That chin is there when using stock keyboard too. Agree it’s a lot of wasted space. Very un-Apple-ish Yes initially I thought it was SwiftKey but then again changed to stock keyboard then the chin still existed. But I'd just stick with SwiftKey still.I just got mine today at good discount off the RRP and everything is good with this except the big bottom chin below the keyboard. Lol I guess you can never have it close to perfection at all these days. |
