been trying to figure it out for a long time now. have no clue. however , even if your file finishes, so long as u still have it in thunder or its unremoved or untouched or undeleted, u will be uploading it to someone. consider yourself as a good citizen who adds to seed count.


perhaps your broadband issue ? it could also be due to the seeder changers. say for instance u get 56k, after 2 minutes it drops, coz the seeder A has uploaded X amount of data to u. now u waiting to connect to seeder B hence the drop. Once connected to seeder B your file rate goes up . It could be that.
or it could also be your router/modem went cuckoo ?
or it could be Relakks or Bolehvpn went cuckoo ?

Anyway i'm on secureix now, and using bitcomet it great. Xunlei works without switching my VPN on but only to public trackers ... NOT private.

patch tcp 1/2 open and set to 100 or 150. anythign beyond that is highly unrecommended.
once u've patched, kindly flush your system in the command prompt section, and reboot.

for all of u who groan and moap all day long bout your xunlei speeds, can u at least check 2 things,
that your streamyx test speeds is 1 or 2mb and do the test at speedtest.net
once u know that u have the bandwidth for it, use xunlei and download a file with plenty of seeders. say bout 10000. dont know which file ?
u can always try downloadin naruto or bleach anime from dattebayo. seeders always amount to >10k for new episodes. and speeds are certanly up to par. dont believe try it. but juz make sure you have these 2 things done, a bandwidth test , and a high seeded torrent file.

Chances are if u have both and xunlei runs as expected, good for u. if it doesnt, check your router and modem settings. also check on your antivirus settings.

you may download using xunlei and continue the download using bitcomet or utorrent.

i;m still on thnder v5.6.7.327 from hehehunter. still works for me. chinese drama series drive of life all done. the dancing from wah lai toi also done. both run bout 230kb/s all day and night long. but it averages there. if naruto alone, it'll hit 250-270kb/s.

oh i forgot, only the english shows and movies i use bitcomet with Secureix. but other than that, xunlei is my main torrent client.


anyway, xunlei works for most, and doesnt for some. its really a "siu hei" program. if u get to use it like me, its good. if u're like my ozzy friend, then it sux big time. for some reason, xunlei doesnt even connect dht in melbourne. but thats just him.

@linkin park , i dunno. u have to check your peer list for the torrent file. if u're throttled, most of your peers would be local ip's with 1 or 2 international ip's. if its seeder issue, then ur DHT would return only a few peers when it normally should return 100.

@ cyc85 have u fixed your tcp 1/2 open connection ?

i've been trying to figure that bit out for almost a year now. i still dont really get it but amazingly it works for me.
however i still do wish they actually work on private seeders as well.

Deluge crashed on me several times a night. It got annoying so i left it in my Recycle bin. Back to secureix and Bitcomet for me when it comes to English stuffs.

however, xunlei works on streamyx for me, and definitely metrofon. coz i have both.

actually i didnt do any port forwarding on my router for xunlei as well. Not a joke. but it works really well with chinese torrents and animes.
Own a Netgear WGR614 the white one.

Got bout close to 230kb/s -2Mb streamyx line. no but amazingly i really didnt forward ports. Bitcomet have to if not DHT no returns.

only some, most of the new ones like drive of life and the dancing wan can get full speeds. my old yee tin kim, still downloadin until today cause only got 3 peers. but its okla, old show wanna watch have to wait a bit lor.

mebbe line issue. if u used other clients would your speed be that as well or higher ? say bitcomet or utorrent.
do a bandwidth test and see.

AFAIK - 1mb line can hit u up to at least 90kb/s on dattebayo's torrents.

i left my xunlei at installation default. Only thing i tampered with is the tcp 1/2 open connection on my comp's winxp. other than that, default, wireless router NOT port forwarded even. (for bitcomet yes, for xunlei no)

several of my friends also didnt do anything, dattebayo's torrents was used as the gauge factor. 20k+ seeders and 20k+ downloaders for NEW naruto and bleach files only. max speed should be obtained. If you download something with 1000+ seeders, you may still expect max speeds. 100+ seeders u can rely more on luck and 10+ seeders, u rely totally on luck for max speeds.

@amenlo9 - most of my english torrents hardly move above 10kb/s. i rely totally on VPN to get max speeds. RM90 for secureix 3 months, ok wat. RM1 a day hahahaha.

@pip_x - your torrent used to gauge the speed on xunlei would be ????? Best setting for xunlei still default settings. Dun bother forwarding port 80. If it wasnt forwarded you wouldnt have been able to access this page in the first place. Your HTML falls on port 80.

@the rest, ayu or ddr doesnt matter that much. If your torrent files download at the speed that you possess and fully utilises the bandwidth, then the job is done. For me i just want my downloads done a.s.a.p.

Anyway did u try other torrent files ? how many peers did your DHT return you for that file while on xunlei ?
If deluge works for you i strongly suggest your stick to it. Tampering with xunlei can be abit unforgiving. My brother in law tampered with xunlei's settings because it didnt work for him in the first place. And after tweaks and all, it still wont budge. He's ripped out his hair and decided to go VPN like me too.

Somehow, just somehow xunlei works incredibly well on chinese torrents. With secureix on, my chinese torrrents on bitcomet moves slower than of using xunlei without VPN on. My bottomline, i'll stick to xunlei when on anime and chinese torrents. VPN performs much better on english torrents.

eh pip , u got try direct connection before or not ? bypass the router see got diff.
if i do a direct bypassing my wireless router it actually works smoothly. Can have bitcomet and xunlei on at the same time, while both are downloading. (without secureix).

and also try not to tweak la, dunno if it'll cause u to rip out your hair or not. all i did was to set my tcp 1/2 open connection and patch it to 100. using the command prompt and a 3rd party sopftware, not by clickin on xunlei's tcp 1/2 open.

wei xunlei also cannot read private tracker torrents.

i hardly click on my peer list. if i click i see many nations flags there . least i know i'm getting some data from brazil and canada and uruguay.

its cheap but still not free. am using secureix and my downloads hit more than 200 unlike yours. however this thread is for xunlei and lets not forget that.

@nitrolancer, u can transfer the 97% file of xunlei's and continue it using bitcomet or utorrent. let the utorrent/bitcomet finish the download for u. sometimes its just like that. or u can try your luck by pressing pause and start a few times.
