@carnbyresurrected - that is pretty unusual. most of my files, eventhough paused for long periods of time, will resume where its left off. anyway i came across this scenario once, using a torrent from demonoid (private tracker instead of public) . it could be due to that.
i didnt manage to download fully using that particular torrent. maybe your scenario is different. care to share more info ?

VPN works for me. what funny things can they do on my DSLAM port other than to gauge the speed and lock it down ? assuming they cap me at 20kb/s, with VPN on it will still be 20kb/s. If they give me full 2mbit connection, i will get 2mbit dl speed with VPN.

If they do track and trace VPN connections, we'd be slapped around like singapore. anything copyrighted would be blasted on us. oh and as far as i know it takes a long while to track and trace what u download on VPN.

yea its normal. xunlei sucks up every single thing that you have available for it. dont mind becoz its fast.

76 pages is alot man. really alot. if u know the answer juz tell la, or divert him to the page at least.

i strongly advice 2 things. to go to HeHeHunter's blog and read and follow from scratch. after that, test it with a high seeding torrent say from dattebayo. trouble shoot as much as u can.
If its still a failure,

revert to deluge.

I have tried both, xunlei works marvelously well for my chinese torrents and yes , some anime's. But when i download *ehemm* tv series and music (english ones from axxo), i use deluge. works good. however it did crash on me a couple of times. bottomline is , my downloads get DONE.

Since my VPN a/c died, i have surfaced from one software to another and these are my conclusions. comet and utorrent dont work for me without my secureix active. they are juz that stubborn.

@Sey , u took the ad version or the no ad version ? i dont understand codes coz i'm not a programmer. but if it helps, can u uninstall and reinstall it again ? try perhaps a diff version . an older more stable built of xunlei.

@vincent09, are u running on a router ? i'm assuming u are because of your port forwarding. Most routers have enabled port 80 for surfing purposes. port 8080 as well for remote management. Xunlei's default ports would be 80 and 15000. To avoid any conflicts, i recommend u do a forwarding/triggering for both TCP/UDP 80 and 15000. And kindly soft reset your router after that.



One thing i found out bout xunlei is, it doesnt matter if u're running on a switch or router. Tweaks need not be done to ensure it starts downloading. I've tested this using my own laptop (a DELL 1540) in multiple places with xunlei's tools and options left at default. However, to lessen the inteference and ensure effectiveness, do the port forwarding/triggering.

Area 1 - My own home, didnt forward ports on my Netgear WGR614 router via 2mb streamyx.
Xunlei downloads perfectly at full speeds. UPnP was flashing on xunlei.

Area 2 - Starbucks Maluri, via airzed.
Xunlei downloads perfectly at full speeds. UPnP still flashing on xunlei.

Area 3 - Dataran Prima Condo Block B, direct connection via 2mb metrofon.
Xunlei downloads perfectly at full speeds. UPnP green.

Area 4 - Taman Desa Condo, friend running on 1mb streamyx hooked up to some weird single antennae Belkin. Didnt forward ports.
Xunlei downloads perfectly at full speeds. UPnP orange.

Area 5 - Subang Jaya SS15, running 2mb streamyx with Linksys wireless router. Didnt forward ports.
Xunlei downloading at 1/2 capacity. Weird.

Area 6 - Paramount Garden, friends house got some weird china brand router with 2 eagles as logo. No forwarding done as well.
Xunlei running full speeds. UPnP orange.

Area 7 - Subang Good year court 7 and 9. Both running Linksys unforwarded port routers.
Xunlei both at full speeds. UPnP orange.

Area 8 - Bangsar Permai Condo, 1mb streamyx direct from modem.
Xunlei downloading at full speeds. UPnP green.


Torrent used - Naruto episode 35 from dattebayo. Seeders around 12000+ and downloaders around 6000+
Date tested - The whole of last week.

dattebayo is public tracker and also the fact the seeders are high. To prove that xunlei works, i redirect everyone to test using these torrents. i'm assuming mininova and d-addict has a lot less seeders, hence slower speeds and less peers. u can also try downloadin heroes's latest series on xunlei juz to try out the speeds.

its illegal to discuss these stuff in here, but for trial and testing sake, i'm gonna bend the rules a little. mininova and torrentspy carry alot of tv series. heroes and house being some of the more popular ones with seeders sometimes reaching 7-8k. hence u have a better chance for good speeds. naruto and bleach are awesome examples due to the seeding numbers surpassing the 15k mark. if u were to download something say with 2-300 seeds like mebbe airwolf or sumthing, u might be a little frustrated as speeds can go as high as 0.1 or 2kb/s. seeding and peers are very important in torrents unlike other p2p which rely totally on the other guy's bandwidth upload speed.

good for u johnlau91, glad xunlei works for you. but unfortunately it doesnt work for everyone.

Everyone has different setups on their computer, some running vista, some even running win98se. Some softwares conflict with each other. Consider yourself among the lucky ones in which xunlei performs for you. Welcome to the xunlei user's club.

thats what i noticed as well. but i'm going to reconfirm that statement by end of this week. so far i am only using it on 1 computer so i cant make that assesment yet. but yes i do notice it.
