The general rule is, avoid Ftec no matter what your budget is.

Kindly add what will you be using your laptop for, as that might help in choosing which laptop that suits you

Thanks for your advice.

I plan to use it for my work (I work in a Engineering Consulting environment) and personal use. Not really into games. Sometimes need to view CAD files.

What is your opinion on AMD Turion 64X2 against Intel duo 2 core?
A friend recommended AMD Turion.
Not sure abt AMD. Heard that it overheats etc.

Cannot decide whether to go for AMD or Intel

Would really appreciate your reply.

Cheers

nope AMD had solved the heat problem .. Turion64x2 is on par wit DUO CORE ..lol ..not Duo 2 Core ..so Duo 2 Core is way better than Turion64x2 ..

but if u wan to get a non dedicated gpu ..u should get a AMD coz theire chipset comes with integrated nvidia graphix while intel comes wit GMA ..

AMd turion x2 no heat problem as well. dont worry about that. It also can control to be more energy saving by powernow technology.

If u got higher budget get Intel C2D. The archicture of design is better than Turionx2.

* If u want to take Intel procesor pls hold on ur order until x3100 IGP release. The X3100 is design to support well in vista environment.

Thanks for the compliments bro... And i actually got it for RM1799 from a friend's shop...

Well, as for the laptop itself, the widescreen is something cool, first time using such a notebook... The built-in Altec Lansing speakers is also a plus-point... And most important of all, for this price, there is WiFi available! thumbup.gif

I'm looking around for a laptop with decent gaming capabilities but not too big please; 15" screen would be the max. Budget would be RM8k max.

Thanks

The last price I know is RM2299. Anybody got further update of this model price?
oh ya, remember to save some to straight upgrade to 2G Ram for Vista.

Agree. May I know, will the intel x3100 IGP better than the AMD intergrated Nvidia?
