QUOTE(Eiraku @ Nov 13 2007, 02:22 AM)
Not much to report? Haha, my M1210 still doing fine after about 2 weeks of endless use... BUT, I just noticed that the gap between the black magnesium cover and the grey plastic LCD frame is quite noticable... Design defect? My paranoia? sweat.gif

Well, unless it comes apart (and providing me with a good opportunity to assess how "COMPELTE" Complete-Cover really is), I guess we won't know for sure... Eh? biggrin.gif

But, things are getting stable on my side of the M1210 use... Not much gaming on it anymore, OR GUI mods... Maybe it's the exams I'm currently taking... Maybe its just me getting old... sweat.gif

OR, maybe its the 2nd hand Sony Clie PEG-TJ37 PDA that I just brought that's taking my mind of the M1210 (and ANOTHER 2nd hand Clie PEG-SJ22 I got barely a few days before that)...  whistling.gif

Talk about exam induced madness... rolleyes.gif

When a 12incher is STILL too big, what would you do? For me (considering the limited amount of money that I have to even THINK of getting a EeePC), I succumbed to the devils of vintage Palm computing... sweat.gif

And, 3 years on (except for the crap battery life), the PEG-TJ37 holds its own nicely even against most Windows Mobile PDAPhones... Even with its crap 32MBs of storage (thankfully expandable to 4GB through MSProDuo Cards), it STILL feels faster then my friend's HTC Touch... I know I can't phone people with the Clie though, but I expect my PDA to be just that: A PDA... nod.gif

My Eiten-Tan - SE W810i - can fill up for much of the rest...  laugh.gif

Thinking of doing a full article on the evolution of PDAs (at least how I see it)... Maybe later after exams... icon_rolleyes.gif
*
talking about the EeePC...it also came in my mind...but thinking again the memory sizes...not worth... whistling.gif
anyway...still loving this M1210...but the weight really making me want a more lighter 12'inch notebook... icon_rolleyes.gif

Darned... CES... Do you have access or is it free for public consumption? If you can get there, snap me a whole bunch of gadget pics, zip em up and mail em to me pretty please?

LYN's most probably not crazy enough to send their lone freelance intern out to the US to cover CES to begin with (although I never give up praying), so a bunch of pics from the scene should help ease the pain (of a tech writer who can't reach CES - or CEBIT - even if he tried)... rolleyes.gif

hello Eiraku and derred!!!...long time didn't dropped in this thread...(where have i been to? hmm.gif ) icon_rolleyes.gif

to Eiraku...sad to hear your M1210 died...anyway do share all the experiences you got from the beginning till they replace yours with a new one... nod.gif
possibility of getting M1310?....but don't ever forget your first love(M1210 or is it Fujitsu C2220) if you got the chance having M1310... tongue.gif

to derred...as what Eiraku mentioned...do captured nice pictures when you entered CES...be an agent for LYN...if you don't mind... icon_rolleyes.gif
owh...sorry about the sad story happened on your notebook also...anyway...the new line-up of AW notebook looks cool!...it's keyboard looks very attractive and attempting... thumbup.gif
don't forget to share something when it reached your hand... brows.gif

geezzz...guys. u all got to help me. my xps 1210 just got hit by a virus (gonna knock my brother for that)....

tried so many anti virus and also spybot to fixed the problem... now looks okay...but still got some weird error message where it did not exist before.

thinking to reformat and reinstall the win xp...problem is, where can i get all the driver files ??? can u guys give me the link please !!
*
all the drivers can be downloaded at Dell's website...check under XPS...you would find all the drivers... smile.gif
try to check the first page of this forum or not check other notebook forums...they might have drivers.... cool2.gif

QUOTE(Haneda @ Feb 15 2008, 07:55 PM)
How did your battery died?

I just got a message prompt stating "your battery is able to charge normally however it is reaching the end of its usable life". What the hell, my XPS is only abt 7-8months old! Worst of all.. the message states this is not covered under warranty! My old Inspiron 4150's battery was still good after more than 1 yr of usage and I expect XPS should perform better!

Not sure if i can nego a free replacement! Buying a new batt in less than a yr is ridiculous!
*
have you tried calling Dell's assistance?...just tell your problems and ask for solutions...all the best!... icon_rolleyes.gif

usually the bluetooth also included and support A2DP profile. try to pair if you have other computer, if work on stereo. then you might need to update your xps 1210 bluetooth latest driver. good luck  thumbup.gif
*
that's why,supposed it paired with my notebook,but it didn't...so sad... sweat.gif
anyway, would try with other notebook and hoped it works...or not have to look for latest driver then... blush.gif

yup sure can just un screw the hdd screw & take it out.
*
lets say i did change the HD,the software-part i just need to insert the cds/dvds given by Dell and it will install all the drivers/applications/programs like what we had originally right?... hmm.gif

which one would you suggest the the 5400rpm or 7200rpm speed?...would there be any power-supply-problem and would lead to unworkable HD?... sweat.gif

i would suggest go for 5400rpm. reason? slower rpm may not produce as much heat as m1210 is really heatup now!
just my opinion.

Anyway, my m1210 warranty is goin expired soon. any idea how much would the extended warranty price and does it worth?
and from previous post i read someone said dell even quote till 1k+ for 1 year extension!
*
owh?...ok...that make sense... smile.gif
about the driver thingy?...just insert the dvds/cds given right?...

regarding the warranty extension issue,if not mistaken, last time from what i remember it cost plus-minus around rm600... hmm.gif
