just to inform, i applied AC5 on my gpus at it starts with 58 Celcius on idle.. after the first 3dmark test now its idle on 64.. even for rite now its on 63-64 Celcius on low workload.. right after ran 3dmark with SLi-enabled it went to 69-71 Celcius tops.. i love this.. my gpus run at 4 C cooler than normal.. but it says it takes some couple thousand/hundred hours to burn-in to see real temp reading with AC5 (cant remember exactly but either one). I'll let u know if it went down a couple more Celcius. This will be good for some of u with high temperature on gpu..

i mean by applying AC5 is a good alternative for those who currently have high temp reading on graphic cards n cpu.. like some of us who hit 80 on idle.. that is not normal so..

I just got back from my day long trip to LowYat... But I was kinda on a rush, so didn't really have time to window shop, just got what I needed to buy, which was a Case Logic 13inch Shuttle neoprene sleeve and a copy of NOD32 antivirus (which I got at the student rate... RM74 from the full price of RM140, great deal!)... Reviews for both later... icon_rolleyes.gif

But I did notice the Zalman NC-1000 laptop cooler being sold at RM150++ at All IT-Megamall... As I was trying to keep my spending low, I decided against getting a laptop cooler (gonna rely on other more primitive methods of propping my XPS at an incline to ensure good airflow = books and stuff), and bought the Case Logic sleeve instead, which I can say is easily worth the RM88 it's sold at (for one thing, it fits the M1210 perfectly)...

Next items to get (when - and if - I get another inflow of monetery resources), a big external HDD and a lappy cooler... and maybe if I'm lucky (really lucky) 2 sticks of 2GB 667MHz RAM...

Sadly, nobody's selling notebook sized gaming mice yet... sweat.gif

Added on May 18, 2007, 1:59 amOn a side note, I helped a friend purchase a Sony VAIO SZ43 today... And somehow I'm really glad I got myself an XPS M1210...

Even though it's got similar specs, the SZ43 build is simply horrendous... And I thought Dell's Quality Control was bad... sweat.gif

Gaps beside the keyboard, gaps in the LCD frame, light leakage that's worse then even mine... And we went through all the units available in stock too... Every one of them suffered, in one degree or another, the same problems... rolleyes.gif

I never thought something assembled mainly out of metal could be so badly put together... Even the plastic heavy XPS M1210 is better built... sweat.gif

The sad part was, my friend just HAD to get a VAIO, and nothing else... And the build quality problems aside, the specs on the lappy was quite nice... Active HDD protection, Finger-scanner and a dual graphics system (both the Intel GMA AND the NV 7400go)... cool2.gif

Finally, the strange part of the tale... The other 2 higher specced SZ models (the one with the 1.83GHz C2D and the 2GHz C2D - the Premium one) had none of these problems... Ehhh... rclxub.gif

Yep, it can be done... Just call Dell up or contact Dell's Service dept... But keep in mind, a separate CC purchase is gonna cost quite a bit more... icon_rolleyes.gif
