Im planning to stay in asakusa. Im trying to reduce the trouble of changing hotel in this trip as well. For nikko and hakone im actually trying to get the earliest ride as possible from tokyo.

Do you suggest me to cover more area per place or just spend a long time to go through the key attraction only?

Thanks  notworthy.gif
*
i suggest to follow what you like and what you really enjoy.

if you are that kind that prefer to travel in a slow pace, then you don't have to rush on all these.

if you are that kind that go to the place, take picture, then leave at a fast pace, then you have time to cover more attraction. But will you enjoy your trip that way? icon_idea.gif

Just want to confirm.

JL724 flight (JAL) to Narita-2 is from KLIA1 and not KLIA2 right?
And also it shows :

Departure
22:50
Kuala Lumpur (External link Kuala Lumpur International Airport)

Arrival
7:05 +1 Next day
Tokyo (External link Narita International)

Mean 10.50pm Malaysia time depart from KLIA, and 8.05am(Japan time) reach Narita?
*
The time display is always the local time of that destination. they should have the flight duration shown in your itinerary and you can count

Neone hike Mt Rokko b4?
how easy does it take to hike from Rokko Sanjo Station to Rokko Arima Ropeway station?
*
hike? no. last time i went there with cable car.

It will be a long way if you hike.

There're buses scheduled for Rokko Arima every few minutes. Forgot the interval. But be careful not to take the wrong bus from Rokka Sanjo Station. There're number sign of 1 and 2 which indicate the destination and also whether or not it is will covered by the pass. For Rokko Arima, i think take the bus from bus stop no.1

I'm planning to travel to Japan sometime around end of October till early Nov. As I've been to Tokyo and Osaka before im thinking to try Hokkaido this time, is it a good time to visit and is the autumn foliage still there during end of October?

Saw some sites saying that time Hokkaido is quite gloomy and too late for the autumn colours. Anyone has experience? Thank you
*
Autumn foliage at the end of October in Hokkaido may be too late. Winter and snowing starts early in Hokkaido

Hi, I am going to visit Kansai area this september for 9 days.
Which JR pass should I buy?
The one from JBT or booking from JR west website?
*
QUOTE(rznrmolev @ Aug 20 2018, 09:44 AM)
Railway itinerary not yet. Still decide which one is better.
From what I read, both JBT and Japan Rail Pass are same. But the JBT one seems like need me to send copy of my passport.
While JR pass one, i have to queue up to get the ticket at green counter? CMIIW
Is coca card reloadable? How to buy it?
*
It's better to plan your itinerary first before deciding which pass to get.

If you have plan to have a side trip outside of Osaka/Kyoto and taking Shinkasen, then consider the Kansai Wide Area Pass

If within Kyoto/Osaka, then icoca card or metro pass will do just nice

Now that u mentioned about the vacuum bag... I need to get one!
Also, is it safe/legal to do jogging in the street of Japan? I know that during Autumn, daytime starts early and also ends early. My son and wife will still be sleeping in the morning so I plan to do some jogging in the early morning. I've never done this on my first trip so I'm a bit curious/cautious as to how Japanese people will think if they see a foreigner jogging along the walkway. I hope its not illegal?
*
jog in the nearby park

the elderly go for a walk in the park very early in the morning

thinking to go USJ first as it’s weekdays, to avoid the crowd maybe?

Yes, will include but haven’t plan until there yet tho
Yes! Definitely and Sagano Romantic Train during Autumn biggrin.gif
*
yes. if you can, get the seat on right hand side of the train for the best view.

Attached Image

if you can't, don't worry, there's also something to see at the left hand side. Just not as nice

thnx for the info...

how much earlier can we board the sagano train...to maximize the chances of grabbing right side seats
*
the sagano train has its own train schedule and seat selection.

You either go early so that you can buy the ticket that is scheduled at the later time, or go and just take whatever time slot available.

Hi guys, I want to ask a few questions about tax-free:

1) How to buy anything (tax-free), just show our passport to the cashier?
2) How many quantities of tax-free items allowed?? per receipt or total?
3) Can I put the tax-free items in the luggage or need to hand carry??
4) At the airport, need to check the tax-free item before checking in the luggage??

Thank you in advance, never had any experience buying tax-free items from overseas.
*
1) buy anything (shop that has tax-free sign), go to the tax-free cashier and pay. need to show passport
2) any amount. As long its 5000 Yen per receipt (5k exclude tax)
3) you can put in check-in luggage. Just hand your passport/receipt at the custom once you pass custom clearance
4) nope. see 3)

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Aug 25 2018, 10:07 PM)
Limo Bus won't overcrowded. The bus left on time or full seat. Example Bus left Disneysea on 8am. Bus will reach disneysea station at 7.30am. Once reach 8am the bus will leave station or before 8am (If the bus was full (40 seat fully occupied). If you taking Taxi, each person have to prepare RM110 // 3000 Yen
1) You have to go Tax refund counter to get tax refund.
2) As long you spend 10,000 Yen above per receipt, you are qualified for tax refund.
3) It does't matter
4) No.
*
the tax refund is no longer 10k. Now reduced to 5k d

Yes, 1st timer.
Planning to spend 3 days at each location.
Now looking at hotel.
*
stick to kansai.

6 days minus your flight date and you have roughly around 4-5 days. definitely not enough for both cities.

i am a bit confused now

Tokyo Metro map: https://www.tokyometro.jp/library_in/en/sub...sen_en_1702.pdf

if according to the map.. I will take Keikyu Line from Haneda International Airport to Sengakuji (Asakusa line) then ride all the way to Kuramae (E11/A17)?
*
The Tokyo Metro pass only covers the line that is thick (on the map). Not including the thin line.

Keikyu Line is not by Tokyo Metro. They run by a different company

Just like how our KTM card cannot be used in LRT
