QUOTE(gtoforce @ May 22 2007, 12:58 AM)
something like hydroxicut?
haha
i followed ego's advice to take only 4 caps per day
the directions said 6
but im not into cutting all the body fat and jadi kurus gile without mass
hahaha

anyways, i need help with 2 of my workouts

i) i've been doing smith machine squats...ahaha...easy for me to focus la...but its really hard cuz the instructor said i stand kinda weird since i stand with my foot facing out...that is like the letter y...haha
he said the foot must be inline with the shoulders...susah...
and to kawal the adductors to be straight...i mean...i can squat 100lbs full form that way...but when reaching 5th to 6th rep...susah cuz i cant focus on the adductors and the knees...since i try my best not to open them too much...haha...
they said i shud keep my knees straight...darn
any comments?

ii) on lateral raise...im still stuck at 15-20lbs...he said i must not lock my elbows
what does it mean?
*
Why are you squatting on the smith machine for? can't you just do free weights straight on the squat/power rack? its much better...

don't lock elbows means you bend your elbows a lil bit. locked elbow means your arm fully extended until your elbows are "locked" and cannot extend summor.

King, just wondering, do you actually LIKE stretch marks? i know you're taking ti as a sign of growth which is a good thing. but about the stretch marks itself, do you like it?
cos some people do... i find that weird blink.gif unsure.gif

personally, i LOVE muscle growth. but i HATE stretch marks... i wanna have muscle growth with no stretch marks if possible...

This is where you're wrong. Stretch marks, DO NOT go away. It reduces as time goes by, but it stays. And some, will be pretty bloody obvious for life. It can be reduced by rubbing cocoa butter and vitamin e. Stretch marks, are not good. NOT good. A tan cannot stop these monsters either.
*
I think stretch marks are ugly.... and those that i already have just doesn't go away... argh! doh.gif

if ur fat bro, u will have that mark til u die
unless u remove it with gunting or pisau la

if ur not, u wont have any
*
Thats not completely accurate as well... if your muscles grow too fast before the skin can adapt to the new size, the skin will be stretched as well.

The usual growth rate recommended is 1lbs per week. but i'm not sure if that recommendation will prevent stretch marks. hmm.gif

I did 82.6kg...

The reason i say i'm seeing gains on chest + lats is because i'm doing it more often now. 2 times a week.

QUOTE(rzeznikj @ May 27 2007, 09:42 AM)
good morning everyone
just wanna ask a few stuff here
i skip training for 2 months due to my final year exam
so for the past 2 months i've been sitting on my ass and reading books and nothing more (yes its no life i know)

so since now my exam is over so i gonna continue my training back
the problem is i realised i got this extra tyre around my waist, bigger ass etc etc
so i was wondering whether i could just go to gym twice a say, u know like Arnold's twice a day chest-back split to burn all those sh*t and get back to shape?

so in the end would it be 80% cardio and 20% weights? cause i wanna get rid of the tyres or issit gonna be 50%-50% weight and cardio

and if it is about the cardio, would brisk walking on speed-6 incline 5 for 30 mins be better or 2 sets of 10 mins sprints is better?
cycling class sucks cause it hurts my balls
body-combat looks gay
yoga got chicks

then in the event i go twice a day like 9am then 5 pm again (this is gonna be exhausting) if i cardio 2 times a day, would it be any more effective n fat burnning

all of this provided i ain't eating shit and rubbish (eat healthy food, low carb and drink protein shake) advise pls  nod.gif

yea last question does those meal replacement/fat burner/creatine help?
*
Lol, it got wiped out of the screen b4 someone answered. laugh.gif
Now, its easier to give advice to help you work towards your goal. however, the only goals i noticed in your post was this: get back to shape, get rid of tyre. now, i have no idea what "shape" is in your head, you might want a skinny shape, or big shape. so i won't comment. as for the getting rid of tyre, i can help abit.

The basic idea of fatloss is caloric deficit. (its been mentioned in this forum about a million times now....) caloric deficit can be achieved by reducing calories and/or increasing caloric output. So your cardio twice a day will definitely help. However, i personally find cardio boring, and doing that 2 times a day everday is gonna lead to boredom/burnout pretty quickly if you're not motivated enough or your cardio is fun enough.

I can't comment about the 50-50 or 80 20 part since i dunno what shape you want. i personally go for 50-50 since i'm small size and focused on muscle maintenance instead of weight loss.

About the type of cardio, if you're really going to do it twice a day, maybe you can do both brisk walking on speed-6 incline 5 for 30 mins be better or 2 sets of 10 mins sprints ? one in the morning and one in the evening.
And if yoga got chicks, then go only la.. what you waiting for? lol. laugh.gif drool.gif

So i would also suggest you incorporate a good diet into your overall scheme of things. a diet that will supply you with maintenance/ deficit calories. Which seems like you already are... so keep that up. smile.gif

As for your last question, does those meal replacement/fat burner/creatine help?
What is your goals?? if your fat loss goes stagnant/ hits a plateau, then you can consider a fat burner. creatine is for muscle builing, it won't help with losing that spare tyre. meal replacements is only if you can't get healthy food with the same nutritional benefits. if you can, you don't really need meal replacements. smile.gif

Hope this helps... any more questions?

regarding the squats,
so doc said he wouldnt encourage squats, cos he says it places severe stress on the arches and somewhere else (i forgot), which isnt good for flat feet ppl. he reccomended leg presses instead, as an alternative. But i guess i'm not gonna stop squatting, just gonna use the Smith machine from now on.

Also, he gave me some tips for good joints. So i guess this will be helpful here.

*
I have flat feet too.. how would squatting place stress differently from a normal foot? hmm.gif
(btw, i've squatted up to 100kgs... and still fine. dunno bout long term effect in the future tho...)

would smith machine squats relieve you of that pressure?

No video le sorry.
and that squat form was sort of... off. as in my hips rolled front and back a lil... according to a pt, that means i used back muscles instead of the legs. so does that still count as a squat?

lol how's holiday xD reaching 2 months soon hahaha.

guess what guys. did 5x5 1st week 1st day today. fukking taxing on my lower back rclxub.gif right after pendlay row did 2 set of hypers then another 4 sets of decline weighted sit up, give up at the 2nd set of sit up, lower back beh tahan rclxub.gif 1st week already like tat, week 6 i'm gonna die lol
*
Was your form correct? If wrong form, it may place unnecessary stress on your back for ceratin workouts.. like squats. But if it was correct, no worries, by 6th week your back should be stronger ler. you should be worrying about 2 days from now.. when you have to workout again.. hehehe thumbup.gif brows.gif Good luck. Eat and rest well.

Edit: forgot to mention, the hypers and decline sit-ups is accesorry exercise right? if your back is already so tired, no point over working yourself man.. just call it a day after the big 3 workouts. me 2 sen.
