QUOTE(jones007 @ Jul 4 2007, 11:25 PM) lol tai lou those pasar malam grippers can be closed with 3 fingers. that shit neek bought is 100lbs pressure there. Hahaha, i liked the way you said it. heh heh. Yeah, this is more heavy duty compared to those pasar malam stuffs. Anyway, its made of iron and has a lifetime guarantee. and the pressure is much higher than those cheap stuffs. |

QUOTE(King83 @ Jul 5 2007, 08:22 AM) @Neek, I got the beginner package. 100, 150 and 200 lbs.which one you bought? 100lbs and? if it takes u alot of effort to close the 100lbs, how are you gonna train on it? negatives? the 100 lbs i can close it (till both ends touch) about 5 reps for my right hand. the left hand abit slack... the 5th rep is 1 mm away from touching. anyway, just keep on training on this until i can do 10-15 reps. then i'll move up to 150lbs resistance. |

Hey, is it normal if my weight goes up but my arm size isn't?
could it be i'm just getting fat or is the muscle weight distribution going elsewhere first? Btw, i'm on HST - full body workout. any of you experienced guys got an answer to this? |

QUOTE(T+1 @ Jul 19 2007, 11:38 PM) i think muscle grow at different rate for different body part due to genetics. when i gained 4kg, my chest increase 0.5 inch but my arm also increase 0.5 inch. i rather hope all growth go to my chest & back. Dang, was hoping fo rmy arms to grow more time to measure other parts and see how much they've grown. if only the waist size went up... i guess that means gotten fatter instead. |

QUOTE(T+1 @ Aug 7 2007, 05:12 PM) instead of STFU, why not discussing with him about ur opinion I feel that sometimes some ppl just wanna chat in the gym... its not so much of that they wanna give advice or not.. but they just wanna chat..I just hope they don't disturb ppl whom are lifting... especially those with bright neon signs that says "DND" hanging above their heads. In my opinion, its ok to give advice... but then when those flers thats givin advice don't seem to have progress themselves since a year ago.. heck... its them that need some advice... not giving it out instead.... |

QUOTE(Canopies @ Sep 13 2007, 03:38 PM) So u are in what range ? I've actually met Ian King in person before. big guy. Back then didn't know who he was. until i bought his book "The Muscle Book". A powerlifter who abstains from bodybuilding movements at all times is the extreme example of this core development. The opposite end of the continuum is occupied by the bodybuilder who's never done less than fifteen reps and avoids spinal loaded movements. Everything else is in between. All you need to do is get a visual image of those two extremes and decide where between them you want to fall on the continuum: Continuum of mass development as influenced by long term training balance between core and peripheral lifts. Non-bodybuilder Bodybuilder Bodybuilder Bodybuilder Powerlifter Powerlifter using core lifts using high reps & avoiding core lifts After you make that decision you can plan the long-term training allocation - as a balance between core and peripheral lifts - accordingly. Remember, it's not what you do in a program, workout, week or month; it's the balance of your training over the years that will determine to a large extent your shape and mass. I will focus on bodybuilding with core lifts. anyway, my training already has 9 out of 10 of the exercises he mentioned. I'm only missing the cleans cos i don't know how to do them.. tried, but still don't know.. |

QUOTE(King83 @ Sep 20 2007, 09:41 PM) thanks for the link.. just finished reading the long long article... Actually, that article supports HIIT.i'm doing fine... less carbs, short cardio duration and low intensity... now for the question... u knew he wanted to burn fat... why did u recommend HIIT then ? i've only read part 1 and 2 so far... but i can see that the article is going for how HIIT is beneficial for one's training. it focuses mainly on the during and after effects of HIIT training compared to slow and steady cardio. (with abit od diet explanation) however, part 1 and 2 doesn't talk much about muscle catabolism in detail and the potential increase of it while oding HIIT. maybe he assumed ppl would know it after reading his explanation about the cardio intensity (or he intenttionally left it out for another article for another day...). |
