hahaha! Lol!

i didn't actually knoe that you can make money outta bodybuilding...mmm....tot it was a spending money sport.
maybe i'll pretend i'm some pro in my campus gym, and ask them to kiss my feet and hail me as the bodybuilding lord, and sign autographs. tongue.gif

But paying for autographs, is utterly retarded.

Anyway......i'm moving to the bodybuilding shed, in a couple months more. Hehehe....boulder shoulders, barrel chests, herculean arms. Sounds gooddddd....lol, i'm making things sound like it's a walk in the park.

Hoho, okay...let's say bodybuilding goals.

mmmm......16" arms......shit i've been outta this bodybuilding game so long, i dun even rmbr the standard measurements for the chest, waist, calves, and all that.

There's a standard for body parts measurements?

Anyways, i'm rather new to this section. Name's Yen. Nice to meet ya'll.

Will be starting 5x5 programme soon. hopefully by this week, or in 2 weeks time (exam). Thx to darklight for the tips and musclemass for the programme reccomendation.

Cheers.

5x5 is more like a strength programme where the main focus of the programme is to be lifting heavier weights as you go.
other programmes like HST (hypertrophy specific training) focuses on getting size. not strength. So in HST, your strength may go up, but not as much as doing 5x5. However, the 5x5 will give size as well as long as you haven't reached your peak strength. biggrin.gif

ya, do with leg on the bench, then as you get stronger, you add weight plates on yer lap. and progress up to be able to do normal bw dips. Thats how i did it. Maybe the big guys got diff advice. tongue.gif

meaning when i reach my peak strength, 5x5 will stop giving me the size gains yeah? so when that time comes i gotta switch workout programmes?

and btw, is HST a beginner or advanced workout programme?

HST is a little more advance, intermediate program not for beginners, for madcow 5x5.. its an advance program for beginner, rippetoe is beginner program for beginners.. HST is more for intermediates who have a certain strength foundation.

Bench dips is for triceps only, can't work the chest. It's not considered as compound

Practice on negative... I don't think bench dips would help in regular dips. The movement is totally different

well for dips if u have a perticulary strong triceps its easy, just that u need to do it for sometime to get use to the stabalizing and movement thats all, like darklight said before, even for pull ups, u need to get use to the movement 1st then only u can really start improving it. this is wat i would advice, dont do negatives dips la. i bet u can do 2-3 reps of dips right? do it till failure for 2-3 sets, keep doing it every workout la. definitely will help.
