Just so that you know, if you keep your body perpendicular to the ground, it's a lot tougher.

Really? I've always known that my triceps are so much stronger than my chest + shoulders (I cant bench to save my life) so for tri dip I can go a tad lower smile.gif

But then my preachers > standing curl so what do I know biggrin.gif

King, do this.

Go to the dipstation.

Jump and get your arms straightened.

Slowly lower yourself, squeeze those triceps and chest really hard while ur going down.

If u cannot go up again, jump again, keep repeating this for about 3-4 sets about twice a week.

@chicaman

consider healthy? AFAIK there's no such measurement, but to be qualified to join the army or police force u need to be able to do a certain amount which differs every place.

@shinchan0824
hands wide enough until when u go down your elbow is 90 degree bent. that stance trains your overall chest, do narrow stance with your palms just beside your chest to do inner chest but that works your triceps a lot as well. just do 2-3 sets. any reps that u r comfortable iwth, just that u have to do it till failure on your last set(i recommend). but doing push ups alone need a long time to build a nice chest, bench press with weights is always the better choice

127 straight non-stop, with just minimal breaks in between.

and 70 pushups in 60 seconds.

i think that's ehalthy enough.

everyone has different bodyweight lah uncle.
if u compare a 100kg person with a 50kg person.

100kg person can do 25 times while 50kg person can do 50 times,
i'll still say the 100kg person is stronger.

talk some sense next time.

Uhh.. no. I don't think Ronnie Coleman in off-season can do 25 pull ups as opposed to a 160 pounder.

He does lat pulldown during off season. The pull up bar will break. If you noticed, those door frame pull up bar has a limit of 300lbs

What I'm trying to say is BW exercises are deceptive when it comes to judging progress on strength. As a trainee gains more muscle mass, he becomes heavier and logically it becomes harder for him to add more weight or add more reps.

i'm just telling him some basic common sense and for comparison purpose only.

if i were to say a 100kg and a 50kg person can do the same amount of reps,
then it's obvious who's stronger isn't it?
