I got this issue with my 8+ , the problem is with the google search app. On and off the heavy draining will come. So i just deleted the app and never bother to install again. Soft reset reinstall all doesnt give a permanent fix. Uninstalled it and never had the issue anymore.
I just reset and monitor the battery usage list the google app always on top whenever the crazy drain come.

Seriously so hard to detect? Just go to battery usage and see the last 24hrs usage. Press the clock button on the right will even show more details like on screen and background usage time.

I have gotten this for 2 weeks now and only managed to use few times when my phone battery lower than 50% and every time I charge it, it doesn't disappoint me. If lower than 50% battery left I can get more than 1%/minute and even i charge all the way to 80-90%+ my average charging is very close to 1%/minute. It does feel slightly warm when it was charging from 20-30% and gets cooler when higher than 50%.

For those who need fast charging occasional and don't want to burn your pocket, this is good option and Mcdodo make good cables previously and this PD charger 29W with free cable really feel solid and stable so far.

I would say really soon. Apparently Apple reduced the production of the X because it didnt meet the sales targetted earlier. With the strengtening of the Ringgit or rather the deperication of the USD, I would say Apple would need to readjust its prices here in Malaysia. Yo can actually get the X now at a much lower price than RRP especially if you buy it off sellers on lyn marketplace. I got a 256GB for a friend at a very good price last 2 weeks ago.

Apple doesnt really reduce the battery on our existing phones, but they underclock the cpu reducing the performance of the phone so that it wouldnt consume so much power. That is according to Apple.

Anyway, since the IPX Plus going to be a bigger phone, Apple should at least be giving the same battery like the ones on the 7+ or 8+ or 2900 mah and above.
