What is Devil May Cry 4 ?

It's the continuation , sequel of the original Devil May Cry which Capcom released on PS2 . A 3rd person action/adventure game , spans throughout different levels/missions over the game. DMC is a true to end tight combo gameplay , to advance , you need to be stylish .


So , what is new in the sequel ?

The protagonist is no longer Dante , replaced by Nero , the younger generation of hero . The addition of Nero in the game brings a whole new level of gameplay , with the introduction of Devil Bringer and Exceed system .


I unlocked xxx modes , what's that ?

There are alot of modes that you can unlock in DMC4 , and this modes varies in difficulty .

Easy - Default , can be beaten without effort .

Normal - Default , easy for DMC veteran , slightly higher learning curve for newcomer .

Son of Sparda - The Hard mode . Unlock by beating normal , it's necessary to master most of the skill to advance .

Dante Must Die - The extreme mode , unlock by beating Son of Sparda . Quoted from the screen description , for best of the best .

Heaven or Hell - Unlock after SOS . new to DMC series , foes and yourself die in 1 hit . Easiest modes by far . 3 Gold orb for continuation .

Hell and Hell - Unlock after DMD . new also , enemies are of Son of Sparda difficulty and you die in 1 hit . 3 Gold orb for cont.

Bloody Palace - 101 stages of increasing difficulty creeps and boss .


Im stucked in the jungle , where's Tarzan ?

This regards to the statue puzzle in jungle mission , 8th for Nero and 13th for Dante if Im not mistaken . Advance against the shadow casted by the statue , or easier ..

time to sell my ps3...... since all the 'exclusive" games are going to be ported over to 360

You still have the Final Fantasy to consider. And not forgetting MGS4 too.

With this 2 series still bound for the PS3, it is still very highly likely that PS3 will be worth getting.

i bought the ps3 because of MGS4 and GTA4. now GTA4 is not exclusive anymore and who knows what will happen to MGS4. if MGS4 is ported, i'm going to sell my ps3.

I will no doubt get full achievement for it

the only bad news is capcom seem reluctant to release cheaper 360 asian versions why capcom? u have no problem releasing region3 (asian) psp games!?

i rmb dmc2 was done in 2 disc style, similar to re2. play as guy/gal hero on separate disc. maybe dmc4 will be the same - disc nero vs disc dante?

next up, monster hunter on ps3/360/wii. capcom, u can do it! can make a killing on gold subscriptions and DLC for monster hunter next

Whoa .. . don't ever mention dmc2 man . That game was totally a case of game-done-wrong . Guy/gal in seperate disc is just a gimmick , they play through the same area , same mission . Unlike RE4 , in seperate ways (Ada mission) , you get to experience a different viewpoint , tho it's still quite boring .

IMO , DMC4 will play Nero only , while Dante will be unlockable after beating the game .

i mentioned the 2 disc, just in case they overfill a dvd9 i agree re2 2-disc were done much better than dmc2 (differrent producer mah)

erm if no asian release, means they selling the game (US/JPN version) at ~USD60 lor. same price with region 3 (asian) ps3. one is dvd9 vs one is blu-ray. one is 1000+ achievement points vs 1 is trophy room.

like i said, dmc franchise is solely at capcom hands now. the creator/producer already left and now working at "seed" studios.

Lolz..PS3 still got KillSwitch 2 le..Nt just Final Fantasy and MGS4..

Dont get me wrong, i love my 360 to bits, but calling an early death for PS3 is a little bit unwise at this early of its lifecycle.

Posting this in an Xbox360 populated forum, will surely garner the likeminded populace to scribe death on the walls for the opposing party. My advice is to hold your thoughts until the end of this year, or early next, when the PS3 has been given as much shelf life as the 360, before coming to any premature conclusion.

Huh , you misunderstood the word "trilogy" ? The series is hitting the fourth , so it ain't trilogy anymore . I only hope it's better than the third , as the quality of the first DMC is still untouched .

While it's too early to give death sentence to PS3, this news sure made 360 stronger.

many fans consider the 2nd game to be an insult to DMC
even in viewtiful joe,capcom hinted that DMC2 might be someone else masquerading as dante..(cant remember his name)

so with DMC2 out of the way,it is a trilogy

it's abit sad,though...capcom is releasing this game on multiple systems,yet most people here are eyeing MGS4 more than DMC4

Actually, what I meant was, if there were only a single console as opposed to the multiple choices we have, the companies wouldn't have needed to pressurize developers to come out with fresh IPs, they'll just adopt the "oh there's only one console around anyways, let's just continue churning out sequel after sequel since we don't have to worry about any other consoles trying to grab a bite at our market" attitude.

Well unless MS starts introducing motion sensor controllers the Wii is still gonna grow. PS3 isn't doing very well cause there's no controller vibration and it's not that unique either

Hehe, if MS starts implementing motion sensing into their controllers at this point of time, some 360 gamers might feel like they got screwed; first zephyr and now this.

But even without motion sensing, I still think the 360 is a fine console. If not for news about RODs flying all over the place, I would've gotten one long ago. C'mon microsoft, get zephyr right!

I'd rather use the controllers with the vibrations. The ones on the Wii is a big turn off for me as i am lazy to move around and play (which is why i sold off the Wii) .

Suddenly it hits me, if DMC 4 is on Bluray for the PS3, how many DVDs would it be on for Xbox360? However if DMC4 can fit on a single DVD for Xbox360, how would Sony utilise the additional space on bluray?

Oh by the way, since Sony has settled their lawsuit with Immersion, DMC4 might have vibration feedback, on the possibly new PS3 controllers.

my dmc4 wishlist

1. if kenot fit into 1 dvd9, pls print more (360)
2. capcom, pls release an asian 360 version, i beg u
3. if blu-ray version has many extra space, pls add some director's cut features like the "making of" or "history of dmc" featurettes or some minigames. dante vs apes?? (ps3)
4. ability to "record" ur super-duper combo and show them off in ur PS HOME trophy room (ps3)
5. and finally, FREE DLC (ps360)

I was thinking along the lines of :-

1 - Pirate A comes in and say PS3 games can be cracked and placed inside DVD9 disc, and mocking Sony's need to put into Bluray discs if what Jin said was true.

2 - The age-old bickering about 1 Bluray versus 6 DVD9s to fit one game between the two versions will carry on here.

Either way, im covered on both sides. I just hope that both sides gets the best versions of their own to stop biased fanboys from proclaiming their version is better than the other later once the game is shipped.

DMC1

A mysterious lady , Trish visited Dante's shop , Devil May Cry , asking help to clean of some mess . Curious of Trish resemblance to his mother, he accepted the job .

His visit to the castle-like/island place was greeted with various demons , namely marionette-clowns , death scythe , frost , and blade(raptor-like creatures) and shadow . Not to mention encounters with boss like Phantom(huge lava spider) , Griffon , Nightmare , and Nero Angelo(which believed to be his brother).

At his 3rd encounter of Nightmare , it appeared that Trish betrayed Dante and helped his nemesis . However , Dante managed to survive . And for his 3rd encounter against Nero , he acquired another half of the pendant , and thus acquired the sword Sparda , a weapon his father(Sparda) once wield .

With the sword , he faced Mundus , the final boss as in every action games and beat him . Trish was no longer under Mundus control after that , and with her little help , he hit the Jackpot on Mundus . Later , he escaped the island with Trish .

DMC2
- pretend it never happen

DMC3

A prequel , "ma ma dei" one . It's all about Dante and Vergil , his twin brother who seems to be Nero Angelo in DMC 1 . He's probably disfigured after dropping in the abyss thus the armor in DMC 1 .

DMC4

Continuation of DMC1 , with the intro of new character Nero . It's believed that up until a point there's a relationship of him and Dante . Trish and Lady are back .

That's easy to fix, just go into C:\Documents and Settings\(Your account name\Cookies and search for the cookie with the devil may cry website address and just del the text file.

i only played dmc 1 and dmc 3 i think. Didnt play dmc 2
