I take Waja, becoz Gti is second hand ler, scare that after buy oledi haf to take it for repair, repair no need money meh as u say...

Second, u oso know that gti can really "race", i m pretty sure that the previous owner had the same thinking as u, sure will push the engine to max one, so the engine might has problem..
*
yeah like mine.1st owner is a lady n i'm the 2nd owner.i use the stock engine for 4 months only, throw away the stock and put in VR4.kao leh!!! drool.gif

Added on April 26, 2007, 5:10 pmand y dun u buy honda eg??now from 30k u can get B16A edy.it's more powerful then gti stock engine.no need to mod edy.but not sure can refinance or not..

well since u r still student, and i guess u always drive alone most of the time rite........ so why not get a GTI........

youngster want to pickup pickup a bit during driving 1.....so u wont regret getting a car with extra bhp

small, nimble and rather good handling too.but ost important parking problem free.... 140hp 1.8 engine is quite ok, not much problem......transplant......no need lar, where you want to go with that anyway? (no offense)

worry about car age, well GTI does has extra spot weld which gave strong chasis so not so much worries....... just make sure u get the real 1 instead of mockup 1......

road tax and insurance, not much difference......... but if u want fully insured cover a bit harder to get for such a hot car haha........

comfortable, well so far it ok as long as you dun go replace the shock with some extra hard so call sport performance thing...... clutch too.... u'll regret after u do so icon_question.gif

I also faced the same problem like you, but i believe that it's all depends on what the owner one. Remember that you only young once, if you are into racing, better do it now and change to family car later... If you missed the opportunity, you will regret later...BTW, i chose GTI.

GTi for me anytime. Damn in love with the interior. Wanted to buy GTi last time, but the price damn high, around RM73K, FTW! sad.gif

Now should be around RM68K I think.

Contrary to popular belief, a lady owner might not understand or treat her car well. They may not understand that the car needs 5000km or 10000km service. They may not know how to drive the car properly.

Best to get a car with a full service record. An old car shouldn't be a problem if it was well maintained, but prepare to spend some extra money on a major service when you get the car. All the belts and bearings should be changed, all the oil should be changed. Check for wheel alignment and balancing, tyre condition, brakes, clutch, suspensions, etc.

you'll need to see your usage needs.
if you need space, then it's waja
but if you mainly drive alone and have backup when you need space, the satria would be a good choice.
i believe the GTi would be better put together when compared to the waja.
however, do check the condition as it might have been thrashed (it's made to be thrashed) and it's still a favourite with car thieves.

If you were on 1st hand car, Waja is better.

However this is 2nd hand, and Satria GTi is rare. Btw, older Waja has tons of (power window, absorber) problems.
A girl or lady owner -> AVOID!!

Yes, putra's handling is really BAD, my bro own a putra, whenever I'm cornering, feel like the car is going to roll upside down... nightmare....
Yes, I am thinking about it!!!!!!! Change the body kit, change engine n exshaut, change suspension...lol...
Erm, yes I like NEO very much, if it is fit with mitsu engine, I'll surely get it, but it comes with campro engine...VERY underpowered when pick up...which can be easily beaten by kancil (lol..I'm just kidding, but i think it is possible)
Look for GTi is not difficult, but look for a good 1, hard loh...
That's one of the point y i wanna buy gti...
"u think i gonna drive 1 car for like 10 years?? if after few years i still cant afford another one.. then im a total loser"

Satria GTI looks stylish! Go for it!
Earlier batch of waja is quite problematic, try to avoid those.

These are the things that most lady owner DID NOT care about: brake fluid, power steering, timing belt, radiator coolant, aircon belt, gearbox oil, LSD/differential fluid, brake pads (both for drum and disc), tire pressure, spare tire pressure, spark plug, battery water.

Even if they fail, they jsut sent it to the workshop and fix it. After that continue the usual ignorance. And when you ask them, their excuses is the same "I always service my car timely, engine oil got change." Correct! Their service means change engine oil only.

p/s: At least my mother sees engine oil, battery water and tire pressure only.

GTI lor, all rounder compared to WAJA.

1. You drive alone, space does not matter.
2. Performance does matter, waja is too heavy to race. be it wajalution or not.
3. Maintenance - like some others already pointed out, parts are abundant and of quality.
4. GTI - the best model Proton ever had. Waja - no eye see.
5. Asthecity, GTI - best design Proton ever had, in par to Putra. Waja - no eye see also.
6. Resale value - 2000 GTI also 35k, 2004 Waja also 35k

I'm planning to buy a second hand car, Satria GTi n Waja, Priced range at RM35000...

Satria GTi(2000-2001),
Reason I wanna buy this car:
-I like racing(Just take it, don't comment, coz I hav no money to buy Evo9)
-I like it's exterior, stylish.
Reasons that stoped me from buying this car:
- 6-7years car ad, very old.
-1.8cc, high road tax n insurance
-Doesn't suit me, becoz I'm quite big in body size, sitting inside GTi make the car looks very small.

Waja (2003-2004) NOT CAMPRO ENGINE and manual 1,
Reason I wanna buy this car:
-It's exterior is not as nice as GTi(for me), but its interior is way better than GTi.
-Spacious n big which suit me
-Newer compare to GTi at the same price range.
Reasons that stoped me from buying this car:
-Underpowered, can't race, or u can say yes when i transplant to Mivec engine, but transplant engine no need money meh?
-Thinking to modisfy it, again, no need money meh?

If u r me, which 1 will u choose? Y?
*
buy waja and join imperials team icon_rolleyes.gif , then u know how to mod d
