I’ve taped the camera. 👁 See no evil.
It’s report time.
*
I think the purpose of the camera is for pings to come in when driver is not around/unaware.
When i walk out of the car to open booth for luggage/groceries, ping came in.
Not just once, i kena at least 4 times already.
If expect rider to open booth themselves, DR goes down for sure.
So the only workaround is to go offline after pickup, which also mean no b2b jobs.

I dont initiate conversation unless spoken to, and i never asked for 5stars, not even once.
*
Same. And yes, resulting in higher DR too.
Seldom clean the car as well, but i do clean the carpet on a daily basis, and using ambi pur.
People are probably getting less sociable, which is good for me.

Does it count as 'clean' if i just throw the sand away? I do it everyday. biggrin.gif

No ambi pur in my car. I put deodorizer only.
*
Still okay if throw sand, I guess should have less Abang smell too.
Accept ping > Abang name > unable to locate Abang at pickup location > Abang calls: "Abang, kamu di mana? Saya sudah ada di tepi jalan!" > confirm Abang race.
But nowadays some Abang very smart edi, use fake girl nickname.

He said want to maximize incentives mah...

During MP hour, if do 1 ikan bilis RM5 job, guaranteed amount is RM32. That means gross, the incentives amount is RM27.

If do 4 ikan bilis RM5 jobs, the guaranteed amount is RM57. That means incentives amount is still RM37. But your cost - petrol and mileage all go up because you have to drive more.

27/5 = 540% incentive

37/20 = 185% incentive

laugh.gif
*
Lol..maximized incentives indeed.
I notice that MP block hard to hit 4 trips. Drove for 2 months but max i hit only 3 trips, plus seriously rare cases and 3rd trip was completed during next hour block.
But UP block much easier to hit 4 trips.

Pemandu Grab disangka teman lelaki

One of the many reasons why I prefer not drive at night.
Drunk peeps. Road hard to see. My old man eyes also kabur. Things gets worse when heavy rain falls.
My only exception to drive after midnight would be last job from airport.
But good thing about night is no jam, not hot and passenger cant see well how dirty the car is

Klang and shah alam too low demand, not worth camping.
Smaller jobs at places like sunway, bangsar, bandar utama.

You mean the squirrel?

Yeah.. since minimum fare and base fare increased, he didn't brag about his incentives already hor? I guess if he show us average fare RM5/trip again then really nobody will believe. If he show us RM6 average per trip then he don't feel proud? So don't want to show at all?

Got one time he show us almost 200 jobs for that week wor. But he said only drive 10 hours per day and Saturday and Sunday rest. So, 40 jobs per day? Every hour 4 trips? Woah... This guy don't need to stop to pangsai or eat?
*
Wah, 200 jobs from Mon-Fri.
Incentives sure banyak lo. Sat n sun can fine dining, clubbing, kao lui, etc

58th or 59th minute just offline until the next hour la.
*
Agreed, but it aint simple. Its about calculation, estimation, planning, awareness and acting when the time is right. Sometimes I would turn off at the 50th minute especially at places with high demand, because Grab system would definitely try to minimize our incentives.
Best is to check what time you enter the hour block, speed up a little and remain online for 1st/2nd trip of the block(to ensure jobs coming in and hope for next customer waiting at same pickup point as current customer dropoff), be aware of the time used for each trip, plan as early as possible for the remaining trips, go offline towards the end of the hour. Cant be too greedy, and you know some trips towards the end are done out of charity if accepted. Ignore/cancel and go offline if required, wisely and carefully. If can complete a trip in less than 15 mins(pickup+dropoff), thats considered very fast.
Save up bullets to be used during MP/UP, practice makes perfect.

How do you guys deal with those who eat or drink in your vehicle?
*
Show black face, scold, throw their food away, slap.
All of the above inside your mind.

But yea, its hella annoying especially riders who are difficult and those who look like careless airheads.
Encountered a woman carrying beer can and half drunk man (both foreigners) once.
I asked if they are drunk, they said no(yes, stupid question lol). It was a short trip.
They got in, joked, laughed n moved around like any drunk n high person would.
I kept wondering, did the freaking beer spill on my car seat or carpet? What am I supposed to do if it did?
My mind was damn negative.
After they got down, i checked, no spills.
Big relief.
Is there an explicit rule stating that customers cant eat or drink in car? And not acting inappropriately?
I remember last time taxis do have this warning in their car.
But im okay with sexy or no clothing (selected riders only)

This is a classic example of being accused as gaming. Dont say grab never warn you. You are not stupid but grab is not dumb. If i were you, i take all. Charity work is a camouflage that we dont outsmart grab....rule of thumb, pretend a pig to eat a tiger whistling.gif
*
Well, if last minute masuk big fare, "charity work" i buat jugak.
I see it as going offline at the right time, not hanging/purposely delaying drop off, so it is still playing by the rules.
Anyone here told by Grab that they were suspended for going offline towards the end of the hour? With min AR and max CR both stated clearly, there shouldnt be any case like this.

Wah this one really sibeh innocent, lying down also kena shot.
Grab system doesnt automatically prevent this.
To begin with, we do not have records of customers, pics or phone number.
For full time drivers, jobs can go beyond 150 every week. How are we supposed to remember if we have fetched the same rider before, exact date we fetch them, and how many times?
Even if we do have their records, is it feasible/efficient for us to cross check everytime we pickup a rider? Is this really good for the drivers and riders, or would it annoy both parties instead? There are instances where same driver should be assigned back to the rider again, eg. rider found out dropoff location is wrong, and there is no other Grab driver nearby. If this happens, would it be better for the rider to get off the car, wait for another driver, be freaking pissed at the Grab system?
I think the combination of this rule and system inadequacy would encourage drivers to just get side bookings, and make riders jump ship to Uber or the other new companies.
Grab bookings get cancelled not only because of drivers, but because of the nature of the system as well.
This is seriously wrong.
Grab, how can we prevent this?

First time working midnight. My experience:
1. Moments later after I exit highway, rider called: "Abang, saya mau pegi besok pagi pukul 8.00. Boleh tak?". Boleh, pegi mampus.
2. Customer made request for rider. Customer saw me and asked me to wait. Minutes later, customer escorted rider with a "wakeup tea" in his hand, tried to get rider in my car, but my door was locked. I winded down my window and asked if rider drank, customer said yes but he is okay, and asked why. I said i prefer not to have people puke in my car. Rider was offended, "Whats your problem!?" I gestured okay okay and winded up window. Zoom, off i went with a big relief.
3. Was at sunway and received ping to pickup at puchong jaya(need to pass thru tol). Ignore ping. A minute later, receive same ping. Learned that ignoring a ping will not guarantee avoiding same ping again.
4. Fed up and balik rumah tidur. Friday incentives banyak, weeeeee

And learned something new from rider today:
If you pickup same rider again, the conversation history for the previous ride in their app is still in tact, not deleted.
Thus this could be used to prevent picking up same rider in attempt to avoid getting banned.

Only way to not get the same ping is to accept it then cancel, then the system won't assign the same ping to you again.
*
I see, will try it out next time.
One thing for sure is if rider cancel, driver might get back same ping. I can remember very well bcos there was once I have just finished dropping off a rider, and the next impatient rider asked where I was, why so long, called me bodoh n cancelled. Then she rebooked and i got back the ping and accepted. She had to cancel again, wakakaka

Dey...Are you sleep typing or sleep standing up???
What is the prevention method for drivers??!
*
Sleeping and typing with toe.
The prevention method that i can think of right now is kind of tedious.
Text all riders no matter what.
When rider gets on board, ask them to open conversation history and see if there is any other conversation recorded besides today (i wonder if date is recorded as well?).
Then pickup/cancel accordingly.
