Grab Smart Alec ma...

Yesterday pick up location at Block A. I reach already and I press I've Arrived and Grab ask me whether I really reach already? Huh? So I just testing, I drive further a bit to Block C then I press again then can wor. But of course passenger is not at Block C so I have to drive one round back to Block A.

Most places got a margin of up to 500m like that to press I've Arrived but some places you have to be at the exact pin location. But sohai Grab put pin at the wrong place thinking they so smart.

I almost kena that day at Pavillion Chulan Entrance. Waze took me to that road side in front of the entrance and passenger didn't show up after 5 minutes and couldn't call him also. Then cannot cancel without affecting CR so I called CS but suddenly the passenger showed up (his phone battery was dead).

Pick up location in the app said Block A. But cannot press I've Arrived at Block A. Can only press at Block C. The pin is at the wrong location.

Fucking CS.. I complain pick up distance almost 5km, they reply saying 5km pick up distance is standard. Shit.

"It has been communicated to all our drivers that a standard booking to be received is within 5KM and drivers are required to accept the booking or it will result in the drop of their acceptance rate.

Please be more vigilant in this matter and do avoid cancelling job offer within 5KM. Your service to our passengers are very much needed and we hope you could cooperate with us diligently in future."

Oh. I complained another one pick up distance almost 6km. CS said this:

"We truly understand how frustrated you would be feeling. We have taken note of the feedback you have shared with us and will proceed to include remark for the booking."

At least this CS staff is consistent. But damn Grab. They really think 5km pick up distance is reasonable?

E-hailing = book a ride through an app.

Before there was e-hailing, there was phone hailing.

Before phone hailing, people go to taxi stand and wait or if you are lucky, if you see one on the road, you can try to hail them.

What kind of "ride sharing" got AR and CR requirements? Really can consistently filter until you find someone heading in your direction and still maintain 30% AR? What kind of "ride sharing" hides the destination from drivers? For so many years Grab operated without a Set Destination feature.

And most importantly, what kind of "ride sharing" has so many drivers working full time?

Even that stupid GrabShare, majority of riders don't want to share. Grab even introduce the option to turn off B2B with GrabShare now. Bullshit.

The only "ride sharing" thing about Grab & Uber is the dirt cheap fares. You really think those dirt cheap fares are sustainable? Grab & Uber has to pay incentives just to attract drivers. That is definitely not sustainable in the long run.

The economics of "ride sharing" simply doesn't work. History has proven the only way it can work is with regulation.

E-hailing = taxi service. The end.

I kena one pick up inside building at Damansara that day. Don't know what's the name of the building, but the lobby was called Halo Sunday.

Surprisingly, the Grab app can detect when I am at the Halo Sunday building. I tried to click "I've Arrived" at the outside entrance but cannot. So I had to ask the guard how to find the Halo Sunday lobby. When I reached it inside the building, I clicked I've Arrived and it worked wor.

Grab app pelik2. On rare occasions it works like a champ. But other times it works like crap.

I replied and said that I don't think 5km pick up distance is reasonable. Please consider the costs that drivers incur and this is what the CS replied.

"Grab fares are calculated by an algorithm that takes into account demand, supply and traffic conditions. It is possible that your other ride with higher fare was during a time where traffic conditions were bad, or when there were not enough drivers to accept all demand from passengers.

In addition to that, if you are a driver under our Hourly Guarantee scheme, you will be guaranteed your earnings per hour should you meet our requirements.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused."

So basically if you are Flexi - go die. If you are HG driving during P or B or no incentives block - go die.

Grab still so lansi after kena regulations by MOT.
