clutch pedal soft/mushy feel is definitely gotta do with the brake/clutch fluid. nothing to do with transmission oil.
if you can go segambut, check out Hock Bee Auto. i guess you can still save labour cost.

hmm.gif I see I see. Thank you so much.

Anyway 1 shop told me abit of leak is "normal" and dunid worry too much about it.

Another shop roughly tell me to change the entire clutch system ~~~~

Best is Proton SC, tell me he can masuk gear = no problem but at that juncture I didn't realize it was actually leaking.

Anyway car still can drive.....in the meantime i guess i'll just watch the brake fluid to see if it drops drastically. hmm.gif hmm.gif

Hi Guys,

Need your expert opinion on car mod. I am driving a 1.8MT and am thinking of the 2.0 engine transplant.

Reason being I'm actually looking for that extra top end power. Current one maxed out at 205km/h. Will I be benefited from the extra 200cc displacement?

Is it a safe approach for such minimal upgrade? I am trying to avoid the Bolt-On Turbo due to the potential risk of destroying the engine.

Also, do I need to upgrade all other parts (exhaust, wheel/tyre size or etc..) to handle the extra horsepower?

Forgive me if I'm being silly. First timer here.

Thanks.

Let me just tell u a little secret to take care of the clutch pump..
Most of the old farts here do that and no issue.. Some done 300k ++ km d.. Without issue..

The fact is.. That the clutch pump is using brake fluid from the brake reservor.. Brake oil gets dirty overtime.. Dirt sips in etc. These dirty fluid goes into ur clutch pump will kill it. Coz dust.. Fine particle cause friction and damage seals..

The solution.. Flush ur brake oil every year.. Flush.. Not top up...
Many of us doing that and no complain on clutch issue.

Recently i asked my regular mechanic to flush the brake fluid. But instead of doing it, the fella just casually take some fluid sucking machine and suck out the fluid from the reservoir! ohmy.gif i dun think that way could flush out the dirty fluid, so now i'm ordering some brake fluid to flush it myself. doh.gif

then again, if i'm doing that flushing, can i flush both the clutch and brake at the same time? biggrin.gif

Turbo is not an option here.

Don't have extensive knowledge on it too.

Just want some subtle upgrade.

Speedo says around 205km/h...

Hope to gain a bit more on the top end to match those 2.4L cars. Or "wow" them at the very least. Lol

a bit leak is "normal"? i doubt that. if it is time to change clutch kit, might as well change the clutch pumps (if yet to change). can reduce double labour job.

Depends premature failed or because u didn't change brake fluid which damaged the pump.
Most the time if because neglected by user. I will suggest to change both.
However it's ur call.. Normally the bottom one failed

Is it normal for clutch pump to spoil again just because never change brake fluid for 25k/1.5years?

The first time it failed was during 15k, sent for warranty.

1.5 years since then, now is 40k, clutch pump out again.

Wondering is there more to it than just aged/dirty brake fluid damaging the clutch pump.

Cuz service manual says brake fluid change every 40k or 2 years.
