Thanks for the information.
You mean all 4 scuff plates will light up? Mine doesn’t light up for the rear passenger seats, only the 2 in front
*
Only the plates on the front doors will light up. the rear ones have no lights.

One thing I noticed about the car is a lack of front camera. Can be a bit difficult to gauge distance when parking in tight slots, partly user error also as not sure where the sensors for the front detect. Bermaz is odd, add scuff plate but no front camera.
*
it isn't difficult to gauge the front end of the Mazda3 because it isn't that long unless of course if you are coming from a car previously that has a smaller dimension, you will get use to the Mazda3 in no time.

Bermaz is not odd lol.gif in fact, they are being considerate. They can give you the front camera but the problem is, are you willing to pay for it tongue.gif

polymetal gray liftback here - no said wind noise but annoying loose tweeter rattling sound when going on uneven roads.

2 way to solve ur problem, PPF or keep at home
*
just do the more conventional way, drive the heck out of the car and if after 5 years the car still pleases you then send it for a full fresh paint job + touch up. way more satisfying than having a PPF on.

Just had these prompts pop up today - "Air Bag & Seat Belt Pre-Tensioner Malfunction" on my two-month-old Mazda 3.
Anyone experience this? Will be contacting Mazda tomorrow.

an owner also experienced something like that but it was the entire i-Activesense system + the air bags. SC diagnosed to be a module malfunction and it will take them months to get the required parts from Mazda Japan but do update us on your case.

no. safe to say that Bermaz will not bring in this variant of the Mazda3 and probably will not have plans to also in the future.

Hi kawans, I’m interested to get a Mazda 3 but don’t really know the rough opinions on the car (except that it looks fantastic). Anything a potential owner should know about the car before taking the dive? Specifically things like maintenance/parts/sales package/etc.

Was going to go showroom to test drive this weekend but... MCO.
*
the only opinions about the Mazda3 that you can take from hearsay is that the car isn't for someone whom prioritize interior space. for everything else, you need to feel it yourself during the test drive.

for what i conclude is that the Mazda3 really is a "driver's car".

I've sat in the back a while ago and yeah, I can agree interior space isn't as practical as something like Honda/Toyota's offerings.
It's just the driving that I haven't tested and is something I need to feel.
*
also, if you are a parent or is an expecting parent then you should consider the CX30 instead.

hi guys, wondering about the mazda 3's speakers are what brand actually since we do not get Bose ones? Is there an option to choose Bose upon purchase or we need to take it outside to DIY if we want to change them?
*
there's no mention anywhere (even in the brochure) what brand are the speakers that came with the version of our Mazda3 but they sound "okay-ish" for standard speakers and no, there's no option for us to up-spec the car since they came CBU straight from Japan.

you have to take it outside to get the standard speakers replaced.

QUOTE(Soniaclf @ Jan 16 2021, 01:38 PM)
I wanted to book the Mazda 3 HP lift back version, but the sales person told me for car arriving FEB are 2020 model.

They throw in extra 1 year of free service and warranty only, price remain the same. Doesn’t seem like it’s worth it. Depreciation is way more than that.

If I wanted the 2021 model I have to wait till March or Apr.
*
i guess the units that are arriving in February were already manufactured in Japan since last year but they couldn't get them shipped out due to logistic restrictions. you should be able to get an "insurance rebate" for taking a 2020 manufactured car in 2021 - perhaps, shop around? smile.gif

if you are worry about resale value / depreciation in value then Mazda is probably not a brand that you would want to consider but then again, all cars depreciate after 5 years. the only difference is, do you enjoy driving it during your 5 years of ownership because if you do then it is all worth it.

QUOTE(PoisonSoul @ Jan 16 2021, 03:07 PM)
Wondering what's the difference for "2020" model and "2021" model? AFAIK, the facelift is not yet launch in MY right? Correct me if I'm wrong here. If facelift is launched, what's the difference compared to the current one?
*
i know that the 2020 manufactured year came with illuminated side steps as standard whereas the 2019 manufactured year ones doesn't - there also seems to be a difference in software version for the infotainment system.

was there a news of a facelifted Mazda3 BP? blink.gif i know they have an improved Skyactiv-X engine that was equipped to the Mazda3.

ah!

these are not the facelifted Mazda3 per se.

the 2.5l Turbo is a new engine variant, the ones that you find in the CX-5 (maybe a calibrated version). the ones with the improved Skyactiv-X engine is the one i mentioned earlier in my post - just technical upgrades to the existing setup.

both these model spots the same design with the difference that the 2.5l Turbo has a gloss back finish to the rims and some bodykits.

Mazda should only be rolling out the "real" facelifted Mazda3 by the end of 2021 or early 2022 (following the standard 5 year product life cycle).

... and here is a picture to break off the mundane wall of texts that has plagued this board as of late tongue.gif

lol.gif this may sound disgusting but i sort of recognized it by referring to the abundance of dried bird droppings on the floor of the parking lot which can be found towards the near end.

the view etched into my mind because i remembered some time ago while i was searching for a parking in there, i drove allllll the way to the end only to find "dayum~, those floors". wouldn't dare to take the chance sweat.gif

are you from Puchong, bro?

Man ... I was expecting an answer like ... 'I happened to see a sonic silver Mazda 3 in Giant Kinrara the other day, and since it's so rare, it must be this one here'

But then ... bird droppings. On the floor. You had us all in the first half, not gonna lie.

Lol.

Yup I'm from Puchong. I'm guessing you are too?
*
haha - sorry to disappoint but i'll definitely remember if i saw your Sonic Silver. in fact, i'll remember if i ever saw a Mazda3 (in any color), it's still quite a rare sight. So far, i've spotted 2 sedans (one white and one red) and one liftback (red) that frequents Jalan Kenari but is always in a dirty condition shakehead.gif

i'm from Cyberjaya but my work is in Puchong so i spent quite a considerable amount time in town. are you in the whatsapp group?

Hi mazda owners, im thinking to get a 2nd hand 2017/2018 mazda 3, is it recommended? ie is there a lot of problem with mazda car?
*
the 2017/2018 Mazda3 (or Mazda3 BM) is a relatively reliable car but like all used car, it will have the general wear and tear issues. just have about RM6,000.00 to RM8,000.00 (with spare) provisioned for repairs, parts replacements and fluid flush and then you'll be good to go.

depending on what you are looking for in a car (whether it's practicality or just mechanical aesthetics), this car may or may not be for you.

the common complain of owners of this generation is the bad soundproofing and the infamous "knocking sounds" that seems to have resonated from the wheel arches when going over undulations.

Thanks everyone. Im currently driving a Saga and looking for a small upgrade. I'll say my top priority in a car now is to provide me with a comfortable and smooth long-distance drive. Is this the go-to model in your opinion?
*
I think the SAGA is in the A-segment category, yes?

If that's the case and you're looking for a "small upgrade" then why not look at other B-segments instead? That segment is so competitive now that it's literally the buyer's market. The facelifted VIOS has a very attractive package for its price but if you still want to look for a C-segment upgrade with "comfort" in mind, i'd say the Mazda3 isn't the one you should be looking at - the Civic does that better.
