Hi guys looking for some advice! Made my booking mid-sept (high spec Sedan, machine grey) and my SA hasn’t been able to give me a concrete date of arrival.
So I was wondering since it’s so close to EOY and with all these CMCO going on, would it make more sense to just hold out for a new 2021 registered vehicle? Since first year depreciation would already be about 10-15% (understand that mfg date will also state the month, but I know from experience ppl usually only care about the mfg year on second hand market).
My only concerns would be 1) If they will extend SST rebate for next year and 2) If I’ll still be eligible for the extra year warranty. Even if I add these two up (roughly 6-7k), it’s still far less than 15k (assuming 10% depreciation).
Greatly appreciate if anyone could share their thoughts! Thanks

if you made your booking mid-September then high chances are that no cars in the recent shipment will be allocated to you unless someone cancels their order or their loan got rejected - you'll most probably wait for the next shipment which no doubt will be next year.
to be honest, i wouldn't worry too much about "depreciation" due to manufacturing year when i have already decided to purchase a Mazda because it cannot be helped. Mazda produces limited supply per cycle and only allocates a certain percentage of it to Malaysia. Even if you make your booking next year, you'll most probably only get your car in the middle of the year?
the pitfalls of CBU cars.
you should check with your SA regarding the rebates/promotions because as far as I was given to understand from my SA previously when I bought mine, she said as long as you made your bookings before the rebate/promotion period ends, you'll be entitled to all of them. it's something Bermaz promises to uphold.
