But i do know Belian, my customer told me before for this species, it actually same as hard as Balau, but lighter. It is a very good feedback wood.

Hi, fot such wide, Balau will be cracked if the thickness only 2-3cm. You will need at least 2.5" to 3"

I c, for 1x8x12 included S4S planning is RM84 /pcs. For 2x8 , it is RM 185.35 /pcs.

Ya, sometime it will be cracked it self, since those log aren't stable after cutting. Few weeks or more later will be lot stable.

thanks for the price info. I get my belian at RM105 a piece. Although i'd love to source Balau. RM20 difference a piece goes a long way when you use 30 planks...

wow if you/or cousin got s4s machine, and old type, usually is quite giant size. how many cutter head? 6 head? should be very powerful machine. funny, i didnt notice it when i talk to him last visit. haha maybe you park it outside the factory area?
or is that that white machine in the photo above?

what size is this chengal slab? the marking show 47 1/2 x 48?

Ohh, i have no idea for that machine but yes, it is quite big also from my view. He have 2 machines, 1 is in the photo (the white 1) , another is just beside it.

The size of this Chengal is upside 48, downside is 47.5

For ceiling, usually if you just need to cover the roof, use 1x3 with T&G is nice to look too !
