thanks for the price info. I get my belian at RM105 a piece. Although i'd love to source Balau. RM20 difference a piece goes a long way when you use 30 planks...

hi Ijan, i am also from Kuchin. Which sawmill do you get your wood from? I am interested in wood working so plan to get a few pieces of wood but not sure where to source for it.

there is one from meranek samarahan to Batu 7
one at the boulevard/batu 5 traffic light
they are a few further down demak sana

quite a number, price lebioh kurang, but quality and choice of wood are very limited

many options depending on wood supplier, for me, white oak.

here is a pic of kitchen top being test fitted and cut to fit undermount sink  (not yet sanding/finishing)

white oak.
didnt put chamfer, cos lightly round over the edges.
the shelves (not shown) has a micro chamfer 1.5-2mm

baru google white oak, impressive thing, marine grade.

berapa harga? Say 2ft by 10ft or whatever length you have. Of course joined wood, prefer factory joined wood as i dun have a 2 ft planner

what did you use for joinery?
can share more internal pictures of the frame, sliders, drawer box

I have always been intrigued by joinery techniques but never had the time. And do not have the time/resources/supply to deal with solid wood, although i wish i do.

I only deal with engineered/manufactured wood saja pakai, ply, chip, mdf...sad

frame is black chipboard, bottom mount sliders

the top surface is using 18-20mm white oak, with side removable panels using Dnut and m6 bolts+screws from the back.

suprising, thats like ikea joinery confused.gif

chipboard edging covered with abs/wood veneer or solid wood face frame?

But the top is Hnnnnngh and i assume drawer front panels are also white oak?

its commercial joinery, enables assembly and disassembly. The usage of D-Nut, is it because of the chipboard material that you are using as the carcass? Since chipboard cannot be joined reliably with normal wood technique.

I still have a Question, why din user cheaper local solid wood, rather pakai melamine chipboard?

And ya, IKEA furniture, you get what you paid for, that picture. But Etsy/Pinterest orang putih punya wood work, mahal at labor. Ad from pakistan/bangla murah, haha! J/k

Cant find much info on D Nut. I thought you said D Nut for carcass. Re read your ayat again, D Nut for top? I need to explore D Nut, i do see them a lot at my suppliers.

So what did you use for your chipboard edge? I'm on the 1+mm ABS edge banding, using contact cement, then trim using flush bit router...and I hate every moment of it. Any other solution other than commerial hot glue edge banding machine?

Cant find much resources sbb most other ppl in the world either use those iron on or speedtape, but their edge band is thin, boleh potong pakai pisau. Those are PVC edgebanding.
