Anyone, new subscribers, managed to get the device protection plan waived for easyphone package? Especially when you have been with another telco for quite some time.

Device protection is optional if you are with Celcom for more than a year.

Sorry just read your post again. No only waived if you are Celcom for more than a year not other telcos.

For existing subscribers, you would need to pay it only the first month. After that you can request for the monthly protection charges be stopped

More than 15 years with Celcom. The staff told me I could cancell on month 2 when I bought my M10
Not sure whether this is tie in to number of years with them??

Hey benny,
I thought the protection plan is optional if you are an existing celcom customer for at least a year. Which means you don't even need to pay the rm50 for the 1st month.
But I guess they won't allow new customers for cancellation on month 2 onwards for that protection plan.

It was rm12 not rm50 for me. I didn't ask for opt out since I could cancell it on month 2

Thumbs up to Celcom TTDI. It took only 10-12 mins for me to walk out from there with an ipx under easyphone program. Have been with celcom for like 12 years (My 1st telco) and I bought it without the dpp. Was thinking to get an ip8 initially (I'm coming from 6) but walked out with an x instead. *Racun diri sendiri

My experience with Celcom : no need ever need to make any advance payment for phones purchased with their plan. It is always quick and easy. Had bought 2 iPhones, a HW Mate 10 and Samsung S5 . All phones taken on spot.

15 years. No wonder you can waive it. Anyone less than a year don't think can get the device protection waved.
