QUOTE(alfredtwl @ Nov 8 2017, 12:21 PM) Received phone yesterday, such a beauty & premium phone. but seems like gmail cant attached the photo shot by Iphone X ? maybe the photo format not jpeg anymore ? Yes default is a compressed format. For compatibility you can change it back to the previous format. It’s under your Camera settings.

QUOTE(PHI_1.618 @ Nov 8 2017, 01:41 PM) Thanks for the news Should I cancel my SG set that will only delivery within 25 Nov to 2 Dec and pre-order with Maxis? The worry I have is that Maxis is gonna have very limited stock and I can't even get it in this year....dilemma . I’d suggest you to hold on first, delivery times might improve especially when we know that there are still stocks available.

QUOTE(yclam5729 @ Nov 8 2017, 01:52 PM) Get a GST claim to compensate the price different, make sure you don't buy online at Apple Store 1st if you intend to claim GST. From my CC chargers, it cost me >RM6k for 256GB. So MYS cheaper in this case My CIMB card conversion rate was about 3.178, price in MYR is RM6000.80.

QUOTE(irenic @ Nov 8 2017, 05:10 PM) btw does anyone here enjoys truetone display? it looks a bit too warm at time...yellowishhhh Yes, and apparently the iPhone X will have better truetone due to a better sensor allowing the phone to decide on a more accurate tone.

QUOTE(Wildcat @ Nov 8 2017, 07:56 PM) But I presumed we can't check for the Iphone X model now for Malaysia as officially it's not launched yet here. Safe to say it’ll be same with Singapore based on previous years.

QUOTE(PHI_1.618 @ Nov 9 2017, 12:24 PM) I agree that Touch ID could be quicker. I can press the home button while I am pulling out the phone from my pocket and by the time I look at the screen, it is already unlocked. However, I read some reviews (I yet to get mine, delivery in end Nov) that there is a quicker way (might not as quick as Touch ID though) where you do not wait for the padlock to show unlock before swiping up to unlock the phone. You can straight swipe up once u pull it out from you pocket and and have the phone in front of your face (with eyes open of coz..). Not sure not to describe that in words, but basically what you do is once u have you phone out and you at looking at it...just swipe up. Don't wait for the padlock to show unlock. Then the Face ID unlock and screen unlock will be like working simultaneously. That should make it slight quicker and maybe comparable with Touch ID? Anyone got the phone can give it a try and see if this make ti slightly quicker to unlock? Of coz, it might still not as quick as Touch ID... Yes when you swipe up before padlock shows unlocked, the phone is already ready to unlock upon authenticating your face and will take you to the home screen right away.

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ Nov 9 2017, 12:38 PM) i'm curious when the person is wearing a specs but then sometimes he/she wear cons. will it affect? can it register 2 face recognition? Face ID doesn’t really rely on the looks, it is mapping out the face to analyse. Contact lens shouldn’t be an issue, spectacles/sunglasses will depend on the type of the lens whether the infrared can penetrate through.

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ Nov 9 2017, 12:49 PM) thanks for your feedback. then i gonna think twice on this cz i will wear specs jz afraid the lens whether the infrared can penetrate through or not as u mentioned I believe spectacles generally have no issues. Sunglasses will be the one that really depends due to certain sunglasses have high IR (infrared) rejection etc.

I’m hoping Apple could at least use Apple Watch as a companion device when near the phone to allow the phone to unlock.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Nov 9 2017, 03:23 PM) But when you were wearing the watch then won't your phone be always unlocked? How long does yours charge... lets say from % to full? IMO wireless charging is really slow. Not that charging by cable is fast but wireless is even slower. Idea is Watch has to be in range connected to the phone, Watch also has to be on the wrist and unlocked in order for phone to remain unlocked. Hopefully Apple has at least thought of something similar like this.

QUOTE(attw @ Nov 10 2017, 06:23 AM) Wow, a sapphire infused screen protector? Probably costs more than Hao 5D if it gets here, ha ha. Speaking of which, anyone here using the Belkin Invisiglass screen protector that you can get installed at Apple Store? Any reviews? Yes I am. Definitely can feel the difference, feeling is very close to actual glass on the phone (since it is claimed to use technology from Corning). It’s slim as well at near 0.2mm. Best of all the accurate and consistent installation when done at an Apple Store.

QUOTE(attw @ Nov 10 2017, 01:34 PM) Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah, I saw the installation video on a unit being done at the Apple Store and was impressed, too bad it’s not a full covered one. Reviews online have been mixed though, some claiming it’s too fragile and even cracks on its own I believe it’s fragile due to it being only slightly thicker than 0.2mm. I remembered one manufacturer told me that tempered glass should be at least 0.3mm thick for it to provide decent protection against impact. Why I chose the Belkin ones sold in Apple Store is due to it claiming to use technology from Corning (so the feeling should be very similar to the naked glass on the phone) and I only want to protect from potential scratches. So a thinner glass protector should still fulfill my requirements. Lastly, it’s just to experience the installation process st the Apple Store.

QUOTE(attw @ Nov 10 2017, 01:47 PM) Haha, yeah, exactly. The experience of having it installed at the Apple Store! I’m currently using Honda 0.33mm full coverage on my 8 Plus and it’s very, very good. So that’s my other option. Yea Hoda pretty common now that sellers are carrying these days, probably best value for money tempered glass at the moment. The other brand is X-One which I’ve never tried before but I think X-One is the film type of protector.

QUOTE(fadzly @ Nov 10 2017, 02:23 PM) or u can follow the forum here Hardwarezone SGSeems the threads for iphone purchase are slowing down after a week of launching. Majority seems managed to get their ipx. In reality, Apple’s production supply is enough to fulfill the demand, only scalpers are making it difficult for genuine buyers who really want to own the iPhone X.

QUOTE(attw @ Nov 10 2017, 02:30 PM) Or the other conspiracy theory is Apple intentionally releases stocks in batches to create this shortage scenario Yes very possible, I remember during the original iPad days where it was always out of stock but some insider info mentioned there were actually stocks in their store room but they release it in batches to create hype.
