Fitness first is now the most expensive gym club among the rest, with their platinum thingy, monthly fee will be MYR209 or something like that for new sign ups & their clubs are relatively small, even the biggest one in Empire isn't really impressive in term of the quantity of machine & size of the club.

I went to True Fitness last night to try out their gym & it was actually quite nice. Will ask the consultant about the membership cancellation & I will make sure I read every single line in the contract before I put my "autograph" on it. tongue.gif

Thanks for this thread, so that I know what to do to avoid unneeded hassles or troubles.

I'm going to the FF at Menara Axis so I only pay RM109 for admin fee (one time only), RM149 for 3 trainer sessions (refundable if u visit the gym 16 times in the 1st two months, and RM135 a month) that's all. No hidden charges, and I pay monthly. I can even freeze my account on months I don't plan to go. smile.gif

Have to be careful as I was FF and CF membership for 2 years each. FF only allowed your account to be freeze if you are sick for > 1 month. E.g. hospitalization with minimum 1 month duration. Or you are out of country.

The max freeze duration is up to 3 months and you can freeze it as you want. They have clause and condition as I did it before. Rejected.

Even when you freeze, you have to pay a minimal amount to keep your membership alive. Im not sure these clause still there or not.

Yes agree with the freeze period. My wife and myself joined FF few years ago, when my wife were pregnant and we were adviced by Doc to stop her going to gym, FF applied the rules the maximum to freeze was 3 months and minimum was RM 40. Now, we both joined TF even though FF is a lot nearler to my house, TF has better facilities.

anyone want the true fitness membership???? i wanna transfer mine.

i really f*** up when they charge me late payment for the late auto debit.

The first month they called me on that. when i called my bank, they says everything is ok. and i call back to TF, they charge normal fees.

the 2nd month, they send me an email on 10 of november saying that i still haven't paid my membership, paying within 7 days, no late charges. when i checked my card statement, it was charged on the 9 of november, with late fees. i went there and the account dept was not in. ok, so i just let them for once.

then this month, i purposely use my card until it reached the limit, so they can't auto debit. the TF called me, and i asked them regarding the previous issue. the answer is very simple, they said,' we have to many member here. we can't check or contact one by one for the payment.'

well... if you think you can handle too many menber, please don't sign up anymore new member. STUPID!

o.o
if i am in your situation i would tell the consultant straight that im planning to quit and i want to read the contract before i do so. and you know what? they will still give it to you. in the end, its YOU paying THEM. you have rights, exercise them.

true fitness is expensive but they offer something like the 2 years contract and free 1 year which makes it sound catchy.
