Haha. I see. Kayanya bro. biggrin.gif

I also usually change the phone in 2 years mark. but Samsung flagships are getting more and more expensive nowadays. Not sure If I still want to change so fast this round. May be wait for Note 10 comes out then I only change to Note 9 with cheaper price. laugh.gif

hi all....for the Samsung Fast Charge 5100 mAh Battery Pack, it can actually last about 1 charge for our Note 8 only right?

i was thinking the capacity is 5100 mAh...should be able to get at least 1.5 times for our Note 8 right? doesn't seem to be the case....after 1 full charge for my note 8...the battery bar left very little only....
*
It's normal. Some energy would be wasted when you are using the powerbank to charge the phone. So when you bought a 5000mAh powerbank, it doesn't mean that it can charge the phone up to 5000mAh. same goes to 10000mAh powerbank, it can only charge Note 8 (3300mAh) from 0% up to 100% for 2 times in 1 circle, not 3 times.

*
Fake Samsung flagship clones is not a new thing. it's been existing since ages ago. But as long as you buy via local dealers (be it local set or AP set), it should be safe. Unless you are buying via international dealers, then it will be a different story to tell.

here more to learn about Note 8 clones.

When does the points get creditted? Immediately on achievement of level or later? I have achieved level 2 a few days aredi but still no points creditted into samsung pay.
*
Read their T&C . They did mention this:

QUOTE
Only points earned for every Bixby level up will be credited to your Samsung Rewards. The levels accomplished before you participate in this event or before you create a Samsung Pay account are not entitled to collect and/or redeem any points.

Points will only be granted after you agree to the terms and conditions of this event. Points will expire after 6 months.

Make sure you follow these 2 steps. If you still got nothing after doing these 2 things, then you better online chat with their cust. service line and ask for their futher assistance.

This info is not good enough to justify the battery life. Since you said your SOT is weak, what's your SOT?

Guys, a new update appears. It will be coming to us soon. However, it's Jan security update, not Oreo. Oreo kena tunggu lagi (manmandeng.com). LOL

QUOTE(chongkiatz @ Jan 24 2018, 06:24 PM)
Today i read somewhere about this

Normally for old phone after update latest firmware, it will slow down and make ur phone feel lag, this is because devolopment think that ur battery is already reach the age and if stil give u full power of speed after update will make u drain ur battery even fast , so they have to reduce the speed of ur CPU to make ur battery balance and save juice  !!! Another reason is make ur phone slow down and force u to get latest phone !!!

I actually quite not happy with my note5 after the latest update, my phone become slow and keep hang and apps crash , i cant tahan anymore only i change to note8 , or else maybe i will not upgrade
*
For android, if you think your phone was slowing down or crashing after update, you should perform a phone reset and start from scratch.

Yes bro.

QUOTE(chongkiatz @ Jan 24 2018, 09:46 PM)
So a phone reset will definitely help out? I feel my note5 everything feel slow after updated
Can't say it will definitely help out. But most of the cases it will solve the problem because factory reset is the ultimate solution when Android phone is having issues that one could not solve by any means. Since you are using note 8 now, note 5 becomes your spare phone right? Then no harm to give it a try. Factory reset the phone and see what's the result.

Even if they deliver it during CNY, S8 is the one to get it first. Note 8 will be taking longer time. Can't blame them since note 8 OS got a lot of stuff to test.

gorilla glass 5 is easy to scratch. Even im a super careful user, spotted a few micro lines already before applying tempered glass. Need to see very detail or under strong light to spot the scratches. Am sure those without sp have scratches but not noticeable only.
*
Some users claimed that it was the oleophobic coating got scratched, not the screen itself. That's why you could see some cases where some users found out the scratch line is gone after they put a sp on it.

I do believe this assumption is somewhat true in certain context. But since most of us are not experts on this, we would never know if the coating got scratched or the glass got scratched.

Yeah, i don't understand, i'm not seller or try to promote anything, just feel freaking strange why somebody did that  shakehead.gif
I'm using this brand Momax, but the charging speed abit slow, from 50% to full charge around 1 & half hour.
*
It's a common thing especially in Samsung phone threads. Some said it's the rival who sell other similar products, some said it's troll. No idea. As long as you suggest some cases or sp in here, they will see you as seller/trader automatically.

hmmmmm, wondering that what is the root cause of this

https://www.androidheadlines.com/2018/01/sa...ues-report.html
*
Not sure why they only posted this now since this issue already existed since the first day. Mine also has the similar issue, also at the bottom, 1 spot only, very tiny one. I couldn't notice it when I checked it on the spot during the purchase. The problem was found in 2nd day. I barely touched the phone on the first day. So no way it's caused by me. Definitely a manufacturing defect from Samsung.

Mind you that the screen itself is perfect. That cosmetic defect is on the very bottom of the phone, which will not affect the usage & functionally at all.

At first it did annoy me. I also planned to pay a visit to SC and see if there's any chance to fix this. But then after 2nd thought, my phone is running perfect, no hiccup, no nonsence issues. That little cosmetic defect (which hard to notice btw) does not worth for changing for another set which may have other issues. So I embraced it and now it doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I love my Note 8 even more now. I call it 缺陷美. wub.gif

I think if using screen protector it will affect normal usage right?
*
It's all depend on which type and brand of sp you are using. Affect or no affect is just a small matter. One thing for sure will degrade your phone quality is the screen clarity. Once you put on sp, no matter how crispy clear it claimed, it won't be as good as naked screen.

QUOTE(mozact89 @ Feb 1 2018, 10:36 PM)
Hye all.. did u notice our samsung note 8 just like previous samsung phone that will drain battery even we put on sleep/lock..

Previously i thought all android phone like this. But after using p10plus for one month after change from s7e and now return back to use note 8, i notice only samsung phone like this.

ios is the best battery saver when u put on sleep.. base on my currenf ip7+..

After 8 generation of samsung galaxy and note, there is nothing improvement in background usage.

This is just what i feel after using almost all samsung galaxy and note.
*
I beg to be different. I have been using note 5, s8 plus and now note 8. When I put them on sleep, they really do save a lot battery life. It's all depend on how you adjust the settings on your phone. However, there's other factors which we cannot control such as signal strength. If the signal is bad, the battery life sure will be worse no matter how you setup the phone.

Google what samsung dex was apparently just Gsam reporting wrongly. Actually is android system? But anyways...samsung dex is system app and got no way to disable also? At least from what i check
*
Samsung dex is part of the Android system. But from your Gsam, it shows that Samsung Dex = Android system? That's so weird. Could be a glitch. Anyway, let assume your Gsam report is correct. The real culprit is Samsung Dex. Then go to the app settings, find the Samsung Dex and force stop it. See if this will stop the drain or not.

Come back and report to us the outcome. Then we go from there.

really? how come i remember that it is stated below 5% per day?
btw, for my phone during standby with either wifi or data on, aod on, every 2-3 hours drop 1%
*
May be Samsung is being conservative. May be the battery consuming becomes better after several updates. May be I remember it wrongly. Haha. Anyway, it's definitely consume more than 1%. I was trying to answer to the person who said aod consume 1% per day.
