QUOTE(WIS9000 @ Apr 19 2018, 10:19 AM) well do update us when you have decided. meantime, i guess this dafang camera is just as good as a dud, unless there are updates on xiaomi's side to revert back to its previous condition where alert videos can be downloaded. Just to update. I think I may have found the device that I am inclined to try after some searching. The Kerui alarm system which seem to have quite many reviews on the internet with some Top 10 or Top 20 best wireless alarm system sites which include the Kerui on their pages. The official Kerui store is on Aliexpress which I happen to use before, so it is likely that I'll give the Kerui a try. There is an option to add smoke/gas detector and also a video camera onto the basic package of motion detectors, so in way it adds some of the functionality of the Xiaomi Dafang. dafang is good for monitoring but not good as a security cam its too slow to send out notification. as for cloud storage - there is practically no other company that will allow you to store videos on their server without paying some fees xiaomi one works at first and now it doesnt. only way is to view and snap photos or record video manually once you receive notifications or hope that the motion detect recorded something.

Agreed. I somehow managed to view my very first alert video yesterday evening. Thought everything is back to "normal" but it seemed that it was wishful thinking in the end. None of the later alert videos worked. Back to usual i guess. On your last comment, even if motion detect recorded video and sends you an alert on this, under the current situation, it seems we have no way to access it. Am i right? Or is there some other ways we can try?

Nice new firmware let you set upto 4 points of the auto cruise, no longer limited to 360 cruise which end up seeing walls like previous if you put it near a wall or something

R u on Singpore server? I tried logging into s'pore but do not see the da fang camera listed. They only show the cube (xiao fang) model.

Apparently now there's custom firmware for XiaoMi Dafang, and it has RTSP-server! https://github.com/EliasKotlyar/Xiaomi-Dafa...er/hacks/faq.mdFeatures it has: - Full working RTSP with H264/MJPEG. Based on https://github.com/mpromonet/v4l2rtspserver- SSH-Server(dropbear) with username: root password: ismart12 - FTP-Server(bftpd) with username: root password: ismart12 - Webserver(boa) - Image-Snap(Get Jpeg Image) - Horizontal/vertical motor rotation / move to center - Turn on/off blue/yellow/IR LEDs/IR-Cut - Local h264 recording - Audio recording/playing - Curl - MQTT - Anything other that you can compile yourself. There is a toolchain avaible. This post has been edited by bergstein: Apr 30 2018, 04:38 PM

I actually yet to try it, but from what I read yes it is possible however you might need how to script (linux bash scripting) to do it. And with this custom firmware it's running on its own stuff, so it will not use any Mi service (server, app, etc), all done via scripting or their come-by-default web interface. If you know bash scripting this firmware basically allow you to do anything you want.
