Ruben Loftus-Cheek was the shining light in England’s goalless draw with Germany on Friday night – but not all Chelsea fans were happy after the midfielder’s performance. The 21-year-old didn’t look out of place on the international stage in his debut for England’s senior side and delivered an accomplished display against the world champions as Gareth Southgate’s No.10.

After playing just 31 minutes in the Premier League last season, Chelsea took the decision to sent Loftus-Cheek out on loan to Crystal Palace this summer in order to get more time on the pitch. And it appears to be working as the midfielder capped a solid start at Selhurst Park with an even better performance for England. Chelsea were quick to jump on the hype by congratulating Loftus-Cheek with a dedicated post on Twitter.

Victor Moses has praised Cesar Azpilicueta for his leadership qualities and believes the Spaniard has had the biggest impact on him at Chelsea. The Nigeria international, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, was one of Antonio Conte’s standout stars last season as Chelsea secured the Premier League title. Moses’ positional change to wing-back was surprising to many at Chelsea as many believed that he had little future at Stamford Bridge after loan spells at West Ham, Stoke City and Liverpool.

But the 26-year-old has credited Azpilicueta for helping him adapt to the right side of Conte’s 3-4-3 system. In an interview with Goal, when asked which Chelsea player has the biggest influence on him, Moses replied: ‘I’d say Azpilicueta. ‘He played a huge part in my defensive development last season.

‘He is always behind me, always constantly talking to me to make sure I am in the right position. When is the time to go and when’s the time to stay. ‘The more games I was playing, we were getting used to the formation and position I was playing, which worked out well for me and he helped a lot. ‘He understands me. We established a partnership which was very good. ‘To me, I would say that Cesar is underrated. As a defender he has got everything. He’s quick, he’s got that desire, passion for the game. He just wants to play football.

‘Azpilicueta is never tired. He can run all night in every minute. He wants to play every game. I think he could play on a Saturday and then again on a Monday. He’s got a great ability. ‘It is great for us that we have him. He’s someone that loves the game. ‘He is always talking to every player before games. He wakes everyone up and says we have got to go out there and win this game.’
