QUOTE(6UE5T @ May 14 2018, 05:11 PM) Next race will return to normal tires though. This same thinner tread tires will be used again later in Silverstone and Paul Ricard. good, so Ferrari can maximize their potential using "Ferrari-spec" tyre, while Mercedes-spec tyre limited to 3 circuits only this season. Ferrari gonna dominate this season bar 3 circuits, haha.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ May 27 2018, 12:19 AM) Exact same crash as Kimi in the Ferrari a few years back. Anyway, great pole by Ric. Judging by RB domination of the FPs and his qualifying, it should be his race to loose only. Another boring race, dislike Monaca race due to less overtaking unless big accident happen..

QUOTE(sphiroth @ May 27 2018, 05:25 AM) Its a hard job for Ric to cover both ferrari and Mercedes alone because i don't think the outright pace will be able to get him a free pit stop. With max and grosjean back there, i doubt there'll be no incident... Haha Looking at his domination throughout FP and qualifying over Ferrari and Merc, Ricciardo would be pulling away with at least 0.4 sec per lap. Only Verstappen able to stay close to him, but too bad Max Furious.......

actually i found today's race those car unable to tailgate closely. gone are the days when those cars queuing right on the tail within 0.3s like train and stick on the corners if one car slow in front. nowdays the tailgating gap about 1s unless your car is really fast to make overtaking.
also the top speed at the tunnel lesser than 300kph? i remember those days 305-315kph seems to be norm...

QUOTE(6UE5T @ May 28 2018, 08:36 AM) Not really, in Monaco rarely they top over 300. Especially the current cars has a lot more downforce and grip now, that's why they can set much faster lap times but top speed remains. Remember the cars are much wider with wider tires too hence also more aero drag. Got, those days Kimi clocked 311 something I remember, hence very easy to overtake after exiting the tunnel...

it is so obvious Ferrari has the most powerful engine.. Vettel's effortless straight line overtake vs Bottas's working hard to overtake in corner

This season is getting interesting, Vettel-Ferrari is clearly the combo to beat. Most powerful engine and good aerodynamic and most efficient DRS package, see how effortless Vettel overtaking, penalty, yet still clear in front of Bottas. But Vettel made many mistakes that could be avoidable. Without these mistakes he's already leading like MM motogp..

this year's mercedes not only slower than ferrari-vettel, it's also tyre-unfriendly and unreliable too! see how effortless vettel overtook hamilton despite so much hyped of their version 2.1 PU and aero upgrade.

QUOTE(sphiroth @ Jul 1 2018, 10:30 PM) Seems like the reliability worries for the new upgrade is true it's back to usual mercedes day, just only year 2017 they're problem-less. but this year ferrari is very fast so today's mercedes reliability-woes ended their championship hopes.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Jul 4 2018, 03:55 PM) Yeah, his home country race which he normally does very well. I also expect Ham to win and retake the lead there. Expect him to start from behind due to penalty. I'm not optimistic that overhyped v2.1 PU still usable for higher stress races (due to challenge from Ferrari and Red Bull they need to run party mode most of the time)

QUOTE(sphiroth @ Jul 7 2018, 09:55 PM) Kimi it is. Haha. Ric is too stubborn anyway... Like in the last qualifying. It is interesting to see all ferrari customer team is performing much better than mercedes customer team. I guess Ferrari PU has 10hp more than Mercedes this season. See only the king Hamilton able to beat Ferrari pair for pole and where ordinary driver Bottas was.

QUOTE(sphiroth @ Jul 21 2018, 09:38 PM) Hamilton out... Seems like Mercedes is being pushed hard until they have to compromised on reliability Mercedes are well-known of reliability issue, remember Hamilton 2016? that time all conspiratorial talk that prevent him to get the championship. it's a fact mercedes lacking reliability except Hamiton's fortune year 2017. this year Ferrari power already surpassed Mercedes is also a fact. Last year Bottas still have a few wins, this year no chance unless leader messed up. So Mercedes will up their PU power but risk of failure like there's one race Hamilton running 1st engine for its last service... overheat, power intermittent lost etc..

QUOTE(PowerSlide @ Jul 22 2018, 12:05 AM) bad luck for hamilton not good for championship fight when cars keep breaking down but i see luck will even out..impossible ferrari will run whole season without any issue later on ferrari famous of great reliability except last year. Schumacher era Ferrari seldom got problem that gave him so many wins... while Hakkinen and Raikkonen Mercedes-powered Mclaren kept failing.

It is unfortunate for Vettel DNF as he dominated most part of the race. But I guess this is good to spice up the championship race as Ferrari has the best race car at the moment and can play catching up game. Someone mentioned Ferrari PU has 35kW more than the field, so it's OK, haha.

QUOTE(uncle tut @ Jul 24 2018, 10:23 PM) i dnt think, hes 4 times WC,now its development race by Merc, tryin to catch-up with ERS thing... no lah, with the 35kW advantage Ferrari having, Vettel should've already lead the championship by huge margin without unforced errors twice (if i remember correctly) this season. These 2 occasion his car was so dominating but he messed up under safety car or slight wet condition. This year's Ferrari performance was like Mercedes's 2014 on straight line speed.

QUOTE(8sg9ft @ Jul 26 2018, 01:32 PM) ^So confident? Lets see the next 3 european races first. It will roughly indicate who will have the upper hand in the final stretch of the season Yes, if Vettel not hot head short circuited his mind again. Since pre season test looking on this radical Ferrari and conservative Mercedes car design, I already rooting Ferrari to win this year's championship.
