If your xb360 still got warranty, then don't void it just for prevention ler.

I was told that lightning strike at home around 1830, which mean that my cosole has been running for nearly 9 1/2 hours downloading stuffs from the marketplace.

i just booted up my 360 to download C&C3 demo, after starting the demo download, when i press B to go back, my xbox hang. restart it and get the dreaded 3ROD!

error code 0102.........

I've checked elvin828 X360's error code and it was 0020. Another success story, gp02's X360 with 0020 error code is revived  . Now stress testing it.

After I got your 360, I had to rush to my mom's hse. She asked me to install new lights for her. I only started working on your X360 around 5:30pm. Anyway I'm happy that your X360 is ok now but pity with it... .

Guys, my operation using both "drilling" and "without-drill" method has been successful. Please add 1 Xbox360 to the list. Fixed by me, Virgil

Why i said both method, because the GPU i used the drilling method while the without drill i used it on the CPU heatsink. Both method works fine and i prefer the "without drill" method. More clean and hassle-free.

If you guys need any tips on the method or have questions on any of the parts needed, feel free to PM me or if you want me to fix it, i will be glad to help!

Edited: Somebody has asked me about the difficulty of the operation. So i think this would be useful for those who wanna try fixing it own their own.

The whole operation is actually very easy. You have the right tools, then you are ready to go. The most troublesome part would obviously be drilling the heatsinks and the core holding the motherboard. But if you use the non-drill method (from now on i called it Lawdawg's method), then it would be as easy as ABC. I cant really remember which part of the Lawdawg's method is difficult, seriously. Maybe removing the outer case is hard

hehe, the status of my machine now is its unable to even start, but instead of the 3 ROD i get 1 red flashing light on the lower right quadrant of the rings

im guessing the HaNa/Ana chips Djinn mentioned earlier are busted...or maybe even the GPU coz i already tried it with a friends AV cable...no luck

any one here who can fix 1ROD instead of 3ROD?should be 3 times simpler right?lol

actually the process is simple but u gotta concentrate while doing it. an extra hand would be better

breakdown of the tools needed:
8 screws and 16 nylon washer, artic silver, Screw driver T10 and T8 and any alcohol that is able to remove the Artic Silver. for price of screws i'm sure u dun need them, they're cheap

should i send back my console to Bernard@Gamers Solution to claim warranty, since there's about 5 months left (and possibly wait for god-knows-how-long)

or just get it fixed by tot31 or all you other professionals?
